Definitely one of the best submissions I've rated so far! The only major issue I ran into was the "boss battle" I'll just call it for now. I think I did everything right, and when I serve him, I just get a white rectangle at the bottom of the screen and can't do much from there. I know there are some ways to make orders half-correctly, so it might be tied to that.

Yeah, don't worry, I found the bot pretty tough to keep up with in terms of point count as well. Even though I gave it a very simple-minded strategy, I think the fact that it perfectly spots every flush and straight makes it a strong contender, especially if you're not scrutinizing every hand carefully.

Thanks! I really wanted to have some kind of deck-building system, or a "create your own rule" system for each card, but that was WAYYY out of scope lol

Yeah, that's one of those little things that slipped through the cracks while trying to get the game to a playable state before the deadline. I definitely would've added a "Click here to continue" in the corner of the dialogue boxes or something like that. Thanks for playing!

I wanted to add a win condition after that final big card gets played by the opponent, but unfortunately didn't have time. So no, there's no winning, currently. I may expand on the idea in the future, though. What issue with the wild card were you having, though? It seemed to work when I tested it. The sorting is just janky.

Update: Music should be working now, and I also changed the Play button so that it doesn't do anything when there's nothing in the play area, so players figuring out the game don't get penalized for clicking it at first.

Thanks! That was actually one of the things we wanted to add, but didn't have time. It was originally going to be the "I Win" condition at the end of that first pass through the deck.
