Hi thanks for playing!  No your computer isn't weak (by objective standards), but after final touches I noticed that because I've turned on dynamic GI for the 'on' lighting meshes (not that there are many), Godot immediately needs to make MANY more drawcalls even if they aren't visible so what should be 100+FPS goes to around 20-40 (on my machine at least), I knew it was slow but didn't have time to identify the cause before submitting :(.

Brilliant little game, first time through I didn't read the bit after the chalice so had to restart (actually quit, because exiting to main menu left a boulder in the cave, I love little things like that).  But once I got past there it was great.   The atmosphere is top notch, especially the bit when you're crossing back over the rope bridges and see the main altar light up, really well done.  Great stuff.

Thanks for playing!   I'll pass on your kind words to the VA!   Yes you got to the end, one of the things I didn't have time for was a proper end screen so I just hoped it makes sense if you catch the datapads lying around (which it probably doesn't!).   Thanks again.

Thanks for playing!  I was definitely going for that feel so glad it came across in whatever small way it could!   I had to cut about half of the content for time so the circular loop and lack of signposting is bound to be a problem, I should have made the last bit a bit more linear thinking back on it but didn't get to watch anyone playing fresh before release :(

Somehow I was drawn to this even before my queue - very disgusting idea and extremely well executed.  I've never had so much fun extracting blood worm parasites with salad tongs before!

Quite a creepy atmosphere and a decent world, if a little cramped.  The deanos sat around don't move, which is creepy enough but picking up the power pills and distributing them doesn't end well.  Overall pretty good although the flashlight is like looking through a straw and I had to give up finding the key because it was giving me a headache.  Good effort.  10/10 would mutate deanos through a drinking straw again.

I love the aesthetic and the first part was great, I think I would have preferred the planet exploring to be a bit more creepy rather than insta-kill as restarting every time is quite annoying.  Otherwise really well done.

A strangely compelling game, I think this kind of flat shaded simple geometry is a cool abstract aesthetic (reminiscent of the very earliest 3D games which had this weird ethereal vibe, before we sullied things with textures).  I found the gameplay confusing but with some polish could be made pretty good.  Exploring between organs also evoked a nice feeling of a fairly expansive body.  Nice.

Thanks, yeah I couldn't get the browser version working at all and was playing the download.

This is brilliant, I'm not sure if there is another ending - I was good in the first run but then tried being evil and just died - I'll probably give it another go and see if I can survive!  I think this could easily be expanded as the moral choices could be a really cool mechanic.

Ok now this is pretty cool, I really like the idea of defending your base with other people!  Also, do you win an award for most parasites attached to you because I got a whole loada wormies!  Nice.

Quite a nice style, when first playing I found it a bit annoying how little you can see but gradually got used to it.  When I first got the flashlight I thought this is cool, I'll be able to find the codes scrawled on the walls where I couldn't see them before!  Even though it doesn't do that I still like it, good job.

Very hard to understand what's going on, I think you have to vary between melee and shooting to infect the cells?   I can't tell if I'm progressing unfortunately because I got hard-stuck on a bit of scenery after infecting several cells :(   Seems like could be quite a neat idea though, I like the alternate mechanics when on the different walls.  Maybe expand out the play area and add some like red blood cells to collect (infect) or something for a score?  Good job though, certainly looks pretty gross (in a good way)!

Pretty neat concept - I think, however I just couldn't work out how to play, I can turn on flashlight and pick up a shell, but then what? Can I load my gun?  LMB doesn't seem to work - sorry if I've missed the instructions somewhere!   Having said that I like the aesthetic and the first time being caught was pretty scary!

This is really good!  I love the idea of operating on yourself and the turn based mechanic works great.  I found it a little confusing at first that clicking on the items doesn't 'do' anything, I expected them to be picked up when in fact it lights up an icon on the screen.  Also the info bit after selecting an action seems a little unresponsive.  Overall though good and I got through plenty of 'donors', empathy, pah!

Hi!  Thanks for trying it out - yes you're absolutely right and I completely forgot to add the 'interact/pickup' control to the controls list!  Apologies!  I've updated the project page but 'E' is for interact/pickup.   If you tried that and still couldn't pick it up then sounds like a bug, if you could give me some details about what you tried I might be able to fix.

Neat little game, the start menu was really well done.  Really like the pixel art style and the lighting worked well.  Movement was good except for getting up the stairs was a bit tricky!   When first playing I nearly jump scared myself by accidentally picking up one of the targets from behind a chair so it levitated towards me, knocking the chair over - a cool emergent scare!

Hi, thanks for playing!  I'll definitely give yours a go.

Thanks for playing!  I probably should add that you can't jump while holding things to the description (if anyone ever reads them anyway!).  Shame you got stuck, I tried to do a little progression and introduce the mechanics but lack of explanation probably makes things frustrating.  You can run faster than the sheep and chucking them changes their direction (actually a bug, but helps!).

Oh wow, thanks for playing and thanks for the detailed review!  Really appreciate that you took the time.  Agreed there is some annoyances with the menus, they took way longer than they should and still were having issues with the animations restarting - I resorted to hardcoding forced states but it still breaks sometimes - really I need to rip that bit out and redo it.

I spent quite a bit of time trying to make a progression of sorts and introduce the items, but the fences needed more intro really, you can pick up the first one and place it further back to trap the sheep, I never even thought of chucking them over the scenery, that is amazing!  Thanks again.

Ah sorry I didn't fiddle with the audio to see!

Great little game, you are a cruel cruel person and I love it.  Definitely gets a little tedious when the timed sections are preceded by hack'n'slash bits with little challenge but I see you've already addressed that.  I loved the way the gfx progressively get glitchier and the virus chase was really well done.

Creepy atmosphere but I think the sound was broken for me.  I liked that the moon seemed to get bigger as you approached, that could have been a cool mechanic.  Interesting take though, nice job.  Sorry Luis.

Haha, thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing!   Yeah definitely will add that if I decide to extend it.

Honestly, no - for a jam game there were no obvious bugs.  My only note would be an improvement of the UI portion, with better font selection and layout, but the rest worked really well - I'm sure with more time this could be tuned to something really good, I think the use of the mannequins was clever.

This is mind bending, once I'd read the comments and understood how it worked I managed to get through to the end!  I'd actually really like a fuller version of this, the melody was creepy and the concept is great.  Buttons on the screen were hard to spot though and the C/B buttons seemed to play the same note.

Subbed and Discord- ThousandthPrime

Good game, really good build up of atmosphere.  Honestly could probably have done with a jump scare - sometimes tropes are right and you did such a good ramp up of tension!  Only minor niggle is the flashlight overbrightens the number pad a bit at the end, and took me ages to work out the drawers in the first section (would be better if the obvious desk had *also* had opening drawers so we'd know they were available).  No complaints though, excellently executed.

(1 edit)

Brilliant game, really fun.  Difficult though, very difficult.  One minor niggle is that the controls take a bit of getting used to and I'm sure the web version wasn't always registering aim (directional) and shoot keys at the same time (might just be my browser) - I'm guessing the dl version doesn't have this issue.  Good overall though.

Pretty neat idea and well executed.  I'm not very good at bowling in real life, and even worse in a horror computer game apparently, but still quite an enjoyable experience.

I liked this, actually got a jump scare out of me at the end haha.  The notes were a bit glitchy and I'm not exactly sure what the story was, but the horror elements all worked.  Well executed, good job.

This is great, really atmospheric and quite poignant.  Great use of the mannequins - just shows you don't need gore to make a great horror.

Thanks for playing!  Agreed I should have made time to add the 'charge up' for the throw, not sure if I want to continue with it but if I do it will be the first addition.  As for levels -  I did have a few more planned (and using the pumpkins more) but time - as always - didn't permit.

Thanks for playing!  Unfortunately like most of Lovecrafts horrors, Dave doesn't care about humanity.  But we care about Dave.

Thanks for playing and the feedback!  It definitely looks like I should have added that 'charge' bar for the throwing.

Thanks for playing!  Yeah, all the sfx were made by my kids!   There really should be a 'charge up' bar to make it obvious that the length of click determines how far you throw things - I should add that to the description too.  Thanks for the feedback.

I had a feeling you'd say it was yours!

A good idea, pretty well executed.  In some ways may have been better without some of the text and allow the player to piece together what happened at the end.  Feed the dog?  Nah I'm off to heaven mate.

Quite a neat control system but I must have missed something as driving down the road just faded to black and then I couldn't quit!
