What was satisfying, and what was repetitive? Thank you!

(1 edit)

All good! :)

Clearly so well made, and so unique! Lots of effort, and I like how it's like we're making us into the bird

It says "his hat", "his voice", for the bird - I would probably change this to "their hat", "their voice" instead - I like how you've named a bird Bella in the screenshots, which probably would make more sense if it was "their voice" than "his voice" lol

So cute and nicely done :)

IT SAVES MY PROGRESS!!! SO GOATED

i'll finish this tomorrow but this is clearly one of the coolest, funkiest, and definitely my favourite game in the jam

so much charm and so much EXCELLENT work on the sounds

and so much island stuff!!!! AND it even surprises you with putting interesting things on an island you wouldnt expect, but still fits!

it is a tiny bit too difficult, and i suppose the pre-req could've been put in better, but the amount of effort and charm in this, with the fun story, and so good for the reason the boat is exploded, made me laugh

This was really good! Very cute, fun to figure out mechanics and go "aha, I need to play my seeds like this!", and some other cute surprises, like the Rock.

winner winner...!

will give a better review tomorrow
it's very, very good

That makes sense! Then maybe making it clearer to the player they work is more important.

Keep up the great work!

Immaculate presentation. Everything is and themed, great. I enjoyed the gameplay, I got the gist - I like the idea of being able to place and replace towers, but it also felt unintentional. Maybe something like combining towers, or making it clearer that you're about to delete a tower...?

Regardless, very cool and nicely made. Amazing work!

I like the idea!
I think more playtesting could've helped spot some issues, or if you did, maybe just noting a few small things to tweak.
Things like the goblin attacking you while the NPC explains there's a goblin, and the text being small. Maybe could be quick fixes?

Still, fun idea!

Stunning, amazing, AMAZING gameplay loop. This is extremely good game feel and fun. Like Super Hexagon, or Jumpgrid. There's something very good here.

I don't know if a score is necessary, as I want to keep coming back just to see what happens next. But it could help, like the above games I mentioned. Except Jumpgrid, I enjoy just to see all the levels.

I love that you can skip jumps. I don't know how I feel about diagonal - it makes it maybe too difficult at the start. I would play this more, but it's hurting my fingers on keyboard too...

Well done!

Really like the idea and the presentation!

The amount of feedback polish is great.

I'm not sure if the upgrades were working properly, but maybe I didn't have enough money to spend - I think all it needs is an extra life at the end of each round!

Well done on finishing.

Haha, thank you!! Which Sega games?

Great point, and all that means so much to me! Thank you so much.

Haha it reminded me of him, but it was different enough that it felt unqiue :) I think that's a plus, well done

Extremely polished, there's so much there (I don't have time to read and learn it all, but it seems impressive!)! There's a lot of good juice.

In terms of starting with nothing... that added more confusion to me, than feeling fun. I feel like starting with nothing means I should eventually get something, and the something seems to be the ability to play the game? Which you get very quickly? But maybe I'm missing something?

Despite this, super excellent game, dang, it is so fun to hit, and I love how much there is - a training area, and the levels? For a jam game, I usually prefer it to be a little quicker, but I also love that there's a lot here. Really excellent. Well done.

Also, notes for credits would be good! Would love to know who made the music, etc etc.

In terms of pure gameplay, it's very well made. Very, very well made!

I wish the art was more consistent, and I wish there was more feedback on when you click something and it doesn't work, or it does work (it took me a bit to figure out you could only upgrade things in the shop menu, and how to do so). There's a few things like that, like when clicking on something like a weirdo and not knowing if it's doing something or not.
I wish the art was more consistent too, but I love that you have a character and a weirdo. It breaks up the gameplay nicely. I don't really like these types of games sometimes, but I can see the vision here!

In future, I would focus on making some things clearer to the player, and keep having fun little things going on! Also, when the character (Scarlet?) said "the ocean holds many secrets", I clicked around there for a while, but found nothing. Did I miss something?

Not bad, keep it up!

A very nicely put together game! It kept me engaged longer than I thought, and I got up to Town Hall 2. I died once, and it was fun to figure out how to play.
Art and music is fine, but I like your usage of SFX the most.
I played for about 10 minutes, but I felt like I got the gist. I would suggest some more fun surprises, but maybe I just missed them! (Some surprises sooner could be cool.)
Lastly, someone else mentioned island theming - I think it's fine enough, but extra points would be given for more island-themed monsters and structures. (But, I also liked the idea of it being a castle and an island town/village! So I'm torn on this!)

Very solid, well done.

Please note that:

Once the island is no longer in daytime, the game is won.

As your dreams have been achieved.

Thanks for playing!

Thank you!

I might have some sort of full screen in the full game!
For now, there's not much to do but explore. I have some goals you can reach in the description, if you like.

Thank you for playing :)

Are you a real person?
If so, how did you find out about this game?

Does the 1k mean anything at the bottom right corner?

There's so  much about this game. Ah, it kept me engaged! I would be so curious to some design decisions. I would've loved some little extra surprises. Yet it stands great, of course. Well done!

Ah! Thank you so much :D

Worth a five in Enjoyment for the ending music and due to that the rankings don't matter much for this game jam, well done

Thank you so much! I probably should tell people to follow if they want to see a more complete one, lol...

I almost didn't add that beginning story setup to this jam version, but I think it added a lot more than music would've hahahah, thank you!

Totally fair, still great job :)

Thank you kindly, this means a lot!! Well, feel free to follow if you want to see updates, I suppose!! Or is there another way?

Maybe I should make a mailing list, lol...

Love it!! I like the screenshot on your Itch page of it, haha, very epic

Well done

Fun puzzle game! I had a bug where when I left to the title screen and came back, I couldn't move the dinosaurs. But I loved learning their names, and putting everything together. I sorta wanted to see what would happen if I let the countdown go, which is a very nice touch I liked a lot... having that countdown there!

Well done!

This is so cute!! I really want to play it more and more, and I love the attention to detail and good juicy feel of the trees exploding. This could go somewhere!! Everything feels holistic and purposeful. Well done.

Thank you so much !!!

Fair feedback! That means a lot, thank you!!

Thank you so much!!

I completed the letter, I think (when I click and dragged the letter, all pieces moved together with each other), but it didn't seem to end the level

Very epic

Oop, sorry, I meant contrast*! Not contract! It didn't need a win screen, just something surprising or different, like something that contrasts all the lower models or a funny joke or a punchline or something.

And of course!
