Hi, I discovered Turbo Outrun Reimagined last week and I want to congratulate you on this amazing project.
As I was playing I noted a few things that could be improved, some of them being completely subjective.
- In the bonus Outrun mode, when close to a junction as we approach a new level, we can see the start of the other path on our side, cars might appear on the side of the track and the game freeze when completing the final checkpoint.
- **Bug** After finishing the five races of the main mode, I can still upgrade the car and head to the first round all over again but after finishing the race, I'm stuck on the finish line. It says "press any button to continue" but no buttons on the gamepad or keyboard seems to trigger the next step. EDIT: I do not remember encountering this but more than a few times ever since.
Personal opinions:
- I've played infinitely more Outrun than Outrun Turbo but the car seem to have too much grip at full speed (personal taste).
- Most of the corners are very pronounced. It feels like some of them never ends so I understand the huge grip is required to sustain a respectable amount of speed in these corners. EDIT: After tweaking the Misc Options with the Corner Sharpness and the Vanishing Points it feels much better but again it's a personal taste. Great options btw!!
- The opponents are very very packed during races. I'm on pause right now with 7 vehicles in-front of me, 6 of them being AIs so it's pretty much impossible to pass because the risk to have a collision and bouncing back on the nearest billboard. It would be nice if they could be more spread-out but that is also just subjective of course.
Thank you for this amazing Outrun experience it's really appreciated. This is now to me one, if not the best 2d racer I've played along with the Outrun original but you've added much replay values with new vehicles and a deeper strategic aspect than the original Turbo Outrun with various upgrades. Kudos.
