Usually with these puzzles you should be able to aim at the rocks or the puzzle itself to get into the "building" mode again in case you soft lock yourself.
But I will definitely try to find a way so you won't be able to soft lock yourself. Again, thank you very much! :)

Oh what a wonderful ps1 looking game. Loved it. Also the puzzles were nice and sweet. I also really liked that the level design, there was so much to look at. 10/10
