I like the gameplay, although I found it difficult to pickup the bottles on the beach. I think the story and message is great, how your actions bring awareness to inspire others to help and I like the simple setting and controls. The music and art is nice too. I would mainly just work on polishing everything and maybe lowering the volume of the text being typed. Idk if it's just me but it seemed pretty loud. Great work though!

I think choosing to do the seed of change instead of a literal plant seed is refreshing new take on this jam's theme. I also like how lessening light pollution still plays into the climate factor of everything we've been doing. Admittedly, though, I am not a fan of visual novels and find that just telling a story through dialogue and text can become boring. However, I think having some level of feedback from the player, like with the sky getting clearer, makes it more engaging. Maybe having more reactions like that could make the player feel like they have more to do? Art looks great too!
From looking at the gameplay and reading your design document, I'm really excited for where this is going. The gameplay looks very fluid and satisfying, the concept is very clearly tied into the theme of the jam and the message you're trying to convey, and the general vibe is great. However, I think with 6 people your scope could expand greatly and you'll be able to tackle more concepts and more themes. Regardless though, great work!
I like the idea of a tower defense-style shoot-em-up, but I worry that burning and attacking plants sort of goes against the "plant a seed" theme of this jam. Maybe it could be evil corporations or chemicals attacking the plants instead? The production plan could be fleshed out a little more too. Otherwise, I think the base concept can be great with a few tweaks, but the gameplay loop still seems engaging!
I like the reference art and satirical commentary, but I worry about scope. I know this is a one-man job, but maybe there could be a third final boss level or a series of side levels or objectives to take down big AI. Especially if you find some group members (as stated in the doc), this could blossom into a fun, goofy game with plenty of gameplay and commentary to go around.
I think that this is a great idea both in terms of gameplay and message. Tower defense works great for teaching people about how plants work together in biodiversity. The art is great too, very whimsical and reminiscent of games I've played before. Just make sure to manage the scope and not burn yourselves out with too many plant ideas or interactions and you have something great!
I really like the concept of two worlds being secretly connected and the player finding out through gameplay. However, I think the game is a little small for what is described. Unless the double-sided planet is a consistent aspect across multiple levels, I would expand this out to a whole solar system of planets to really drive how every action is in one big system. I think the theme could go a little further past just "plant a seed". Maybe the theme could be the butterfly effect or something where one change effects everything. Overall, though, I think that this is a fun idea with a good twist that I would definitely like to play. Just hoping to see more!
