Here's a screenshot with half view set to depth buffer. I'm using a 5700xt but haven't ran into any other rendering issues. I'm modelling in Blockbench and exporting obj files I import to Pixelover

I can export normal maps fine, by changing the preview to Normal Buffer and then exporting, but then I also need to export depth maps for my sprites (white closer to camera, black farther away). I change the preview to depth buffer but it doesn't seem to change anything about how the preview looks. I've tried messing with materials and lighting to try to get something to show for the depth buffer, but no luck. Is it supposed to work the way I think it does or am I missing something?
