I really enjoyed what you have so far! The intro is a little long, but it serves to establish the characters and the world and it does that very well! The creativity in the story so far is impressive!

I would love to support the game, but sadly I can't afford monetary support. Are there any other means by which I can help? 

It was something about the coding taking longer than expected. They are having artists continue to work while other stuff is finished. They are posting new artwork and scene spoilers too.

It's not dead, the developer is neglecting this page for updates though. The discord has activity from the dev from today, it's just taking a while.
