Operating system: Manjaro rolling release x64

When I click on any menu item in the File menu that implies choosing a file/path ('Open...', 'Save As...', 'Export Image...', etc), nothing happens at all - no file picker opens, whether inside the main window or the OS file dialog. Same with pressing the corresponding shortcut keys (Ctrl+O, Ctrl+Shift+S, etc).
Running in the terminal doesn't output anything either, I was expecting it to be a missing shared object file but nothing is written to terminal output, and 'ldd tilekit_v1.07' shows all shared object dependencies are resolved.
Any ideas? Let me know if you need any more info.
