Wow. That was great. A bit confusing I have to say with the "Not" and the boxes top left last level aren't explained.
I wanted to give up on level one tbh, but finished it. It's just good. Some more polish of course, but I'm highly impressed for a game jam game!

The theme has been hit perfectly obviously^^

I'm just going through all the reviews I got, I was a bit busy the last days.

Basically: You're right with every point.
And yes, I want to expand it, next step is different colors and walls, then maybe prisms and lenses as you said.

Oh, the blurryness I have to check more indepth. I'm not familiar with shipping a game yet, so maybe I did some resolutions mistakes there. Will try it on a smaller screen if I get the chance.

Thanks for your feedback!

Hey Div, thanks for playing and rating my game(did the same to yours of course).

I agree with the tutorials and polish, basically I agree with everything you said*g*

Haven't thought about making it for mobile yet, thanks for that input :)

Thank you for playing it, despite not being into puzzle games, that means a lot to me :)

Yea, I put graphics on hold, just made the really basic stuff with all my art "skills".

Fast forward is something, I didn't think a lot about yet. But you saying things, brings me to the idea of a power up "Speed", so you can get a better timing for a  level(well, if I'll ever add a timer, that's just ideas), so thank you!

Thanks for your review!

Yes, the jump was a bit big, but I focused on finishing something an wanted a challenge, and to be honest: I didn't think the third level was a challenge at all, but I've seen people attempt it, and from reading feedback, the step was to steep, definitely.

I will continue with this, and once all the game mechanics work, I will most likely look for an artist to work together with :)

Im really glad you had fun while solving the puzzle <3

Thank you for your review, and of course I took a short trip to test your game as well. Rated it as well :)

I thought about penalizing the player, adding a timer or a counter for rotations or whatever. Knowing that people might just enjoy the relaxing part is very valueable feedback to me!

I have two players seen playing it live, and I agree: There must be a better tutorial / guidance in the beginning. Same with the number blocks.

Ideas are already in the works.

I'm glad finishing the level satisfied you.

Thank you for your kind words <3

(and don't get me started on laser sounds getting annoying, omg....xD)

Thank you very much for saying, that it was fun playing! That's the most important for me <3

Thank you so much!

I almost agree: There is music, it's just too far in the background an overtoned by the lasers. Something to change in future versions for sure.

Story, Ui, 100% valid points :)

I'm glad you managed to beat it!

Thank you for saying that you found it satisfying <3

Haha nice, thanks for the footage. I actually didn't play that. But obviously I had played some kind of layer puzzles before, everybody has^^

I agree with the idea, to see the direction the lasers fires before you fire. I had an idea in mind for that actually and tried to make it work, but couldn't get it working yet, so it will be available in a later version :)

Thank you for playing and reviewing <3

Thank you very much for such a thorough review!

I agree with all of the points you made, and already kept working o it to improve things that were mentioned more often.

I like the idea and how well it works. Only got the flower, then died 20 times and I'm not up for that tonight xD

But what I saw I liked very much. Yes, graphics are basic but they work.

Biggest brainf*: Running left at first. Who does that? xD

Hey, interesting game. The concept somewhat is familiar in my head, but I don't know from where.

I would say the mechanics you have are very well implemented. The drifting just works, and that's what makes the feel of this game imo. So you nailed the most important thing!

You also got me with the school bus, that came unexpected xD

Hey Codeum,
I gave this but a brief trial.
The menu, and the sounds feel very polished.
I assume, the underlying technical intricates about power and money are as well great, but I didn't get far enough to experience this, because:
I very much dislike the 3D style. I think, a nice pixel art or just 2D in general would be very fitting. This of course is a personal preference.
I also disliked that I could do too much too early. It overwhemled me, that I could buy so much from the beginning, there was no "grind", no waiting for more money.
I think a bit more slowed down, and maybe a more indepth tutorial would benefit your game greatly.
Hoping, I didn't hurt you with this review, just trying to give honest feedback.

If you have the time and energy, feel free to rate mine as well: https://iyurael.itch.io/laserconnection
Good luck in your further game dev journey(which you definitely should proceed!)

Thank you, just added a screenshot. Completely misssed that part, as this is my first Jam. Appreciated :)

Very well done game!

Just beat level 20, whlie I only wanted to test games for like 5 minutes, oopsie.
Very smooth graphics and animations, sounds are fitting, music is not annoying.
It all looks very polished and with some achievements or leaderboards I can see this in an app store and people play it.

one thing though:

In this situation, I could't pick the 9/9 skeleton

In this situation, I could't pick the 9/9 skeleton, it only clicked the others. But that's the only bug I fould.

If I may ask two questions, out of curiosity:
1. How do you make sure a word is valid? Do you have a big dictionary in the background you got from somewhere, or does it check online?
2. When dropping new letters, are they entirely random, or did you weigh letters differently, so you get more frequently used letters more often?

Very good job on this(rated this very good as well).

Hey there,

I wanted to give it a try, but I can't do anything?
I can browser through the tabs(very nice), I can go back(back button at a different position in each tab is a bit odd).

I see the pig on the right, but I can't add it to the deck or buy it or do anything with it.

Am I missing something?

If you make me able to do something, I will give it a try :)

(also: This is not critizicing your game at all, it's early and I just woke up, so maybe I'm just too tired too understand easy things so far xD)

Hey everybody :)

This is my first game jam, and I would appreciate some ratings in the jam.

I'm looking for honest ratings, since I know there are many flaws in the game, but there are also things I think I did great, and Id like to see if other people feel the same.

Laserconnection,a puzzle game, takes about 5 minutes to complete, and I don't expect written reviews, just rate it with stars :)

Thank you very much in advance <3

Gave you a, hopefully, fair rating.

Couldn't give all stars everywhere, like Music and Story only got one star. Still, overall a 4 star submission imo. Congrats to you and your team :)

Yes, CTRL+z works!
Also managed to get past the candle level^^

I really like the minimalistic graphic style you chose!

Oh, thank you for your kind feedback <3

Hey there,
gave it a very brief try.
Got stuck on the first candle level.

Pro:
- Nice graphics
- Soundeffects(but no music)
- Tutorial for each level that gives enough time to read, without getting annoyed
- looks very clean overall

Cons:

Lines, the longer I draw them, the more space between the mouse and the end of the line is there, where no line is visible
No option to restart a level / undo actions.
