for step 2: you need to be about one pixel from the bucket. Not directly to the left of it, but like bottom left of where the bucket was placed so its not "too far away"
Step 3, you have to hide to the right of the first "check!" building in the shadow part after you place the rope when the shadow has the bucket over its head.
