your game update changed my life

project soupostoid

i've made several recordings of me playing some sort of soft metal on a electric guitar but i couldn't compose a song properly to put it in the game

my balls grew bigger while playing this game

in my room... straight up unloading it...
and by "it", haha, i mean, well, let's just say...
my gun

the usual "don't bite off more than you can chew" :3c

Thanks, I wanted to add more stuff like crafting "height changer" or whatever (that was goint to change scaling/height of main characters) and other fun stuff but got really bored and didn't do that.

The bugs are expected cause I was rushing and doing loads of spaghetti code. Right now have no idea what caused your bug, if you could bring up reproduction steps - will look into that.

Add more? Add more what? Steamhappy? Teehee? :3c?

im gonna enjoy REDACTED :steamhappy:

да ну вы че, уже который чел не может пройти, видимо надо куалити оф лайф апдейт закинуть для упрощения прохождения

*metal pipe mp3*

I added a small meme in the end if you win. Just to wrap up the story.

Great!

It's a common thing when you are the only one developer working on a game so you might not really bother yourself with writing "clean" code (I also don't put much effort into writing readable code). I'd rather focus more on the code that works, but yea, in the long run you might shoot yourself in the leg with this, so I'm hoping I will follow more best practices for game development coding.

Thank you so much!
Next time I, hopefully, will create something more interesting, interactive and story-telling with more hand-drawn animations.

I really slacked to make this "e" a bit more lile "e"...

Yea, ideally I want to make Crocoboy the funniest silly fella in my games

Heya, thanks for the feedback!

Yea, I've been having these problems with graphics in gamemaker a lot, I will look into that so that I can avoid these problems in future.

About ending - yes, you are right, it does indeed need some "proper explanation" that the game ended. I'm just really into oneshot-like games where game can just close/write something to text files on computer/and so on - so if I made this game for desktop it would just close in the end. But yea, I will try to avoid this kind of stuff while I'm doing web games.

And thanks for looking into that bug! Would really love to know what caused it.

Hey dude, I checked out your stream and saw that you couldn't reproduce an error. After that I tried to reproduce this error again - and I did manage to reproduce it 2 times (out of 3).

1. I played poorly, scoring a low score (only filled like a bit more than a half of the progress bar) - got same black screen after 3rd minigame (opened up console and saw "USER ERROR: Tween invalid. Either finished or created outside scene tree at play (scene/animation/tween.cpp (haven't got this error on 2nd reproduce); Output buffer has not enough frames! Skipping output frame; USER ERROR: Amount of particles must be greater than 0 (this one I get in the beginning of the game so probably this is not the reason))"
2. I played scoring a lot of points - managed to go further, no black screen.

I recorded a video of me getting a crash, so I can send it to you if that's gonna help you (even though you don't really need to burden yourself with fixing it). And maybe this problem is only reproducable on mac's google chrome, not sure

I got a black screen after 3rd minigame

The reason for not adding "click E to show whole text" was laziness. Same goes for music.

About proceeding without succeeding, will take that note - thanks.

I will work on improving such simple things as music and basic features (like pressing E to show whole text) in my next games. Although I'm competent only on coding. Art, music and gamedesign is not my niche, so I will have to work on that.

It's really bad that I'm not that kind of a person who would polish absolutely everything before releasing something. The urge to show everyone what I've done so far is stronger, but I will work on that too. Hoping that with each game I'll learn something new and one by one games will become better.
