This game is way cooler than it has any right to be. Multiple characters that can be leveled up in different ways and items and stuff. Its like a whole jrpg, impressive. If I am to nitpick anything it would probably mostly be clarity. The text could use a little vertical padding between lines maybe and the world map isn't super clear. I spent much of my time playing avoiding the grass because I didn't realize I could walk through it. Overall, very well done

I am glad you had fun. The sluggishness was intentional to make it feel more chunky. I do fear that your experience will be typical for the average person who tries the game. Each level is designed to be only 1 to 2 minutes long, but to learn them well and complete the challenges takes a lot of runs on each level to get a feel for them and I don't really expect most players to invest that much time.
Ultimately I am super happy with how it turned out, but next time I enter a jam I intend to focus more on a gameplay experience that can be optimally experienced in a much shorter amount of time lol
