Hey! The BOTB links don't work unless you're signed up, just FYI

Haha thank you! I should not have updated the game on the first day of holiday :)

Nooo! The soft-lock is fixed for the post-jam haha. I agree on the emergent scenarios, I didn't expect that when I started designing it. Would be curious to see how other people solve the levels.

Thanks for playing! I definitely agree on teh difficulty haha.

Not enough games include the Wilhelm Scream any more, we have forgotten our roots.

Really gorgeous looking and sounding game! I got stuck before managing to complete the game but I definitely want to revisit any future versions you put out!

Very cute idea, great theme connection too! I found the mismatch between the cart movement, the track layout, and the visuals a bit frustrating - but the idea is really cool. I got top 10! I think a static puzzle version with score limits might also be fun.

Such a simple but fun idea. I will hear the little squeaking sound effect they make in my dreams though haha.

Haha this is so good, the final level is a nice touch ^_^ Your musical instincts really come through here nicely!

thanks so much, i love doing pixel art, it's so soothing.

thank you!

aww thank you so much, and thanks for playing!

thank you for pointing me in the direction of frog kisses hahaha. FROGS.

Haha thank you so much toulou ^_^

Thank you! It was a bit of a rush but I'm quite happy with some of the level designs.

Haha thank you so much! I agree on the brutal difficulty, I'm going to try adn adjust it. I did have some ideas for other kinds of rune/node, I might think about expanding it... thank you so much for playing!

Ah nooo, I'm so sorry! I'm going to fix that in the post-jam version. :)

Here's the ending screen you deserved, since you didn't get to see it: https://imgur.com/etxbJOk

Yes! It's my first year of using pico-8 'for real' but it feels great, I love it so much.

Thank you so much! I spent so many sprites on the death animation but it was so cute I kept it haha.

Haha I don't know if that's your fault as much as it is the game being tough. Thank you so much for playing! You did well to finish it!

Not too bad - I originally avoided making platformers in pico-8 because it felt too hard, but after looking at some examples of how other people did it (especially Celeste Classic) it gave me a lot more confidence. Coincidentally I had been working on a platformer a few weeks before gmtkjam so I was in the right mindset to reimplement a similar system. It wasn't too bad in the end! :)

Haha it truly is too hard, I'm going to tune it down for the post-jam version. Glad you liked it! Celeste is one of my favourite games :)

One of my favourites of the jam so far. I'd love to see this worked on further! Some passive runes that don't do anything when active (so you waste time letting them tick up) but that apply constant benefits might be neat. Like a little cart to let me carry more corpses haha. Super good art and music too!

Really great idea - I must admit I did quit out after I saw too many rooms with lots of doors I had to restart for, but I do love the idea and implementation, and the art is phenomenal.

This is absolutely the best game I've seen in the jam so far. So, so smart and elegant. I would love slightly more generosity in the hitboxes but perhaps I just need to get good haha. Seriously incredible work.

Thank you so much!

Haha thank you! :) Making p8 games with black screens always reminds me of ZX Spectrum games :)

So cute! The developer of Falling In Love sent me here, as both you and me made Frog games. Frog team go!

Dang that's so good! It's still surprising to me how good people are using the palette, it feels like a totally different vibe to my own pico-8 games. Well done!

That was super tough! You did really great work with the art - did you use the secret palette?

Extremely sharp design, I don't think I've ever seen this before? Impressive you designed such intricate puzzles in such a short time too. Would love to see more of this!

Superb concept, well executed. I enjoyed it a lot. Just generally a very fun mix of time attack and upgrade selection.

Extremely good. 7.41 best for me.

I love the artwork so much! Great title too. This has a lot of potential to work as a Zachtronics-style programming game almost, but mainly I just love the main character's design haha. Lovely stuff.

Thank you so much, I loved your entry too! I really wanted a reset button but I had this mind blank with pico-8 and forgot i could've used up or down arrow to reset - it always feels like you're out of buttons. I'll add it for the post-jam :)

Yeah the music is tough, I actually was torn between just having no music at all? I am not a great composer anyway and I did it all in about an hour haha. But I'm glad the other stuff worked for you! <3

Thank you so much! I am trying to get better at sfx and music (the music is bad hence it being low volume haha). So glad you enjoyed it.

You should absolutely figure out a way to connect it to dance mats and submit it to some festivals/exhibitions haha.

Extremely cool. I got super into it. I don't know what it was but the handling model on the cars felt super nice just tapping brake to take the corners a little wider, and drifting between palm trees on the final track. Really fun!

Fantastic work. And an online leaderboard too! "Sub one-minute times are possible" I'm just going to tell myself you mean per lap to feel better about myself.
