Another thing I had forgotten to highlight (it was on loading screen tips but not guaranteed to show) was that sheeps move faster and stay closer the higher the moral

Thanks! I always fall short on the tutorial aspect. The glowing shield thingamajig in the sky is a checkpoint that shows where to go next when you walk underneath it. The night was indeed too dark but I had only tested it along the path due to the amount of time. The charge attack was weird, it was a multisphere trace from the start of the dash to the end, and i added each person hit to an array so the same character woudnt get hit twice, but there were some instances where it wasnt triggering properly on the smaller wolves.

thank you! I always try to ensure I have customization in the jam games, or apply settings to medium by default because unreal defaults to high settings and I dont want anyone having issues running the game.

thanks! It did take a lot of effort but it was really fun!

yeah there's no moonlight so if you stray from the path into the bushes then its hard to see what's happening.
I added some bars to show where sheep are getting attacked at night tho.

thanks! the world has alot of fluff as there is a path for you to follow, so alot of it is traversible but theres nothing there. I didnt point out that the glowing marks are checkpoints but I needed to finish the packaging etc with enough time to submit so I didnt do anymore tutorial work.

The sound settings actually had music, ambience and sound effects but no time to classify the sounds so I just hid those in the menu.
I have some concurrency on the different category of sounds but there were still quite a few sources (wolf growling, howling, sheep bleating, ram scream when hit and all the hit fx)  so sometimes the overlap would get loud

Very cool concept and matches the theme very well, but there was no strategy involved to win against the bears. I just flew past, never got attacked once, so i had no need to use the bees. The mazes were also nice.

I collected 420 before the timer ran out but then I couldnt do anything for the remaining seconds and the timer ran out and it was game over

I rolled my way to the end on the edge then still burnt  or lost everything lol. I am not a good chef. Perfectly matches the theme, one of the top contenders in my book.
Should have put the controls on the HUD tho

simple but nice concept. could have added a bit more strategy and or a scoring system based on time or number of moves.

oooo gathering food while you are food! nice

the mouse aiming made it amazing to shoot while still dodging. Wish there was a scoring mechanism tho

you can change your page, you just cant reupload the game

i'm realizing if you try to type while rating it doesnt save your rating, or when you try to leave it says your comment wasnt posted so you end up sending twice.

Honestly one of the most fun submissions i've played so far.
Once I conditioned myself to stop making such jerky movements when dodging I got 241 highscore. Wish there was a way to see my highscore tho.

same! I was dying almost immediately off rip. I also couldnt maximize for a bigger screen for some reason

Read the controls but took me a little while to figure out the seasoning mechanic. Fun game concept. Loved the end game commentary lol

lol i was surprised to see i died before I even started playing. Thought i could go through the openings in the wall :(

cool game. I do think on the corners tho you shouldnt spawn obstacles as soon as you turn because then you have no time to react and move away. e.g., I was in the left lane, couldnt see around the corner and as soon as it turned it was a bird so i couldnt move over 2 lanes fast enough.

I completely missed that! I'ma go check again.
I am a part of the proof that people don't read lol.

EDIT: Oh I see it! But its too obscure. You only see it if you remain next to the border which I didnt do. As soon as I couldnt pass I went back thinking I needed to do something behind me so i missed it. It also blends in too well with the background.

Nice quick cyclical gameplay. Funny story and commentary

I love the time dilation for the music and the feel of the menus! This was so damn fun to play as the hotdog just flopping around. Most fun entry I've played so far.
Man those damn rolling pins are diabolical! I feel targeted when it restarts and backpedals before moving forward

Nice mechanics design but for a game that requires such precise movement the smallest movement should be a bit smaller. The tap to move shouldn't have to be that light to make a small movement on levels like #6.
Had to fumble around to figure out controls

I like the narration , however I don't like being forced to wait.
Cool concept and the mouse grab is a nice element though I would have preferred the choice to use buttons for jumping.
I especially loved the time slow jump!

Overall solid game.

Great submission! 5/5 for meeting the theme.
The heating not working properly is an issue tho. sometimes i would hit ice and not get cooled down, other times my temp would go up from almost 0-100 in under a second.
I love the movement concept for the hotdog

lol the win is never guaranteed but thanks!

Thanks! glad you liked it

Thanks! I put them on the main menu and the pause menu. Didnt want to clutter the HUD with all that info.
Glad you liked it!

ooof. nothing uploaded. Icon looked very interesting

You sir are a very evil man! I dont have the reactions to get more than 26 it seems. Very fun concept with not being able to see ahead of you. Will have to try this more tomorrow when i'm not cooked from tiredness.

didnt realize i technically had double jump via wall climbing? for a while.
Good soup! Love the puns! I think I'm gonna drink it all in first before I give a rating.

For those of us who do not have PCs with amazing specs, if you find any game running extremely slow with low fps you can turn down the quality by editing the "GameUserSettings.ini" file.

This file is in one of the following directories based on if the packaged build was shipping, development or debug

  1. \[Projectname]\saved\config\window
  2. \Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\[ProjectName]\Saved\Config\windows

Edit the section shown below. 0 for low, 1 for medium, 2 for high

Thanks! I tried to switch up on the theme instead of making it a regular food item, then designed around that.

Hey, so i'm working on the spear fishing in mine and i'm trying to figure out a way to fire and retract the harpoon. If you don't mind, how did you accomplish that?
I'm tried spawning an actor but it doesnt work as well as i want it to, then i considered animating the harpoon mesh forwards and back but i'm not sure how to accomplish that

Tbh tho, i think some of the better games in the jam that fit the theme more didnt get alot of ratings. Some of the most rated ones didn't even have a developed fishing mechanic which is the point of the jam.

(1 edit)

I don't think we can see the game ratings anymore after the close. But ik your game has ratings because aside from mine, it had ratings before i played it. I also rated about 30 games

No problem man! Just going through all these submissions and enjoying the games.

Great spin! I love it, I just wanted an inventory for the KO'd fish, maybe in the update

Great and amazing take on fishing. I loved the flying, the controls and animations plus the wingbeats etc. The fishing was very tricky tho. I havent quite figured out what angle you need to dive in from, and to what position. I thought you had to go from above, and slightly ahead but it wasnt hitting at all. tried going diagonally ahead and diagonally right to it but it only triggered for me about 4 or 5 times.

Its a very fun creative idea but it just needs a little polish. The little bobber doesnt decelerate fast enough so it will go offscreen and if you didn't notice what direction its hell to get it back.

Is my mouse supposed to popup on screen when i start fishing?  all i can do is shock, i cant hold any fish etc.
Also just a heads up it seems like you shipped out the development build instead of the final build, as i was getting warnings about lighting not built etc
Edit: figured it out.
