cool man

My first jam. Looking to join or gather a team.

What's already built

Working player controller in browser/JS (canvas):

Grid-based movement, responsive step/turn queuing

First-person crawler-ready; built to scale, not throw away

I have a background in systems design (HVAC, access control, water systems). I have been programming in C and grafcet blocks for over years (started running bots on gaiaonline in 2004). emergence and sublime state machines are native territory.

What I need & Expect to provide

Dungeon / encounter design: we can stand up a designer portal for world building with door and spacial contracts in grafcet on day 1 and assist in a level designer portal

Combat + systems design: we have assets for a rudimentary card game that's point and swipe friendly or we can make one from scratch

Art: everything we can do with lerp canvas on dom: sprites, emoji assets, hd-2d like octoath traveller.

Audio / feedback: our mini budget will get us 200 chiptune sfx, 100 hd sfx for doors and spacial awareness, and a dozen chiptune loop able songs off the shelf or we can make from scratch with a day 2 portal stand up

Direction

First-person grid crawler with strong mechanical identity. Not chasing retro aesthetics. Interested in what the format actually affords: spatial decisions, movement as language, encounters that use the grid. Reading a lot into Doom level design rules.

Longer-term angle (not a jam requirement, just context)

If the game lands for game jam, We want to push it toward TV play; specifically the LG app ecosystem and Magic Remote pointer interaction. The first TV native wii-style pointing dungeon crawler will be a landmark.

What you get

A working foundation on day one, fast iteration, and someone who ships.
