Overall: I loved the artstyle and the mechanic (so far). There are only 2 stats, but i can imagine this branching out to be 4 or 5 stats, having crazy stacking potential. It is also the first time i got such an interactive turn based playstyle, which is nice. Beyond the art, there are definitely potential to improve the story, the city background in the main menu and in the game looks hella lively. Additionally, the build variety is really nice. You can max out stats, min max other parts. A nice example is attack per max SP. Then stack max SP. In any case, this is the first demo, yet its got a lotta fun potential.

The goods:

  • Unique take to turn based attacks
  • The art is beautiful
  • YOU CAN STACK DAMAGE AND ONE SHOT THE FINAL BOSS
  • Decent decision making tree. Similar to slay the spire, we only have 3 rooms type and a boss, but with more development, it will definitely be fun. But with just the 3 base rooms, it is already enough to have interesting builds. For my winning run, I used max attack stacking to one shot bosses, which was pretty fun.

Some problems or improvements:

  • Guard doesn’t have a clear indication. I was wondering if it even works
  • Guard is also a bit obsolete, the Metal Spring just carries right now. But i have hope there will be more items and more stuff to do which balance out mechanics.
  • Unsure what and how much mana increase by., Im guessing health (this was written 5 minutes in). Might be a bit weird? Because usually you increase mana by attacking, so you might need to heads up for that.
  • Nitpicking: After finishing a battle, it puts you at the bottom of the screen, which force us to scroll up manually
  • MORE ATTACK MINIGAMES
  • More ways to attack (?), we only have one way right now and i thought it `was a bit boring since all it does is deal damage and nothing else.
  • Attacking multiple enemies will probably be fun. Like when youre attacking one enemy, it dies before your inputs are finished and you can jump to the next.

This does feels like a personal anecdote, oddly uncomfortable reality of a depressed person, in which case I do hope you are fine OP. In any case, good art, good sound, I was just taken aback by how raw the narrative was.

great job either way, fitting all assets and doing it yourself in 4 days:)

I just want to say that I am extremely jealous that I did not use Count Down as a character:) Otherwise, it’s a nice little counting game
