Nori will sell you seeds in  case you skipped her dialogue. You can get money from doing Jay's task. After that, go to the plot of soil and interact with it. I'm not sure there's a reason to farm though. I've racked up $3000 from repeating Jay's task alone.

In case you still don't understand it you go to the porch, grab the bag that wasn't there before on the right, take a right and the dumpster will be across the waterway, go there and look for 'Trash [Jay]' in your inventory and use it. After that go back to Jay to turn in for 3 trust.
