I figured out how to deal with the 2nd issue (you have to find vent cover and press down)
you should hold sprint (S button) and hold the direction button (left or right)
I think the second level as a kid is bugged, there is 1 ventilation shaft that traps you in infinite roll and and the second shaft on the most right elevator traps you in a room with no escape.
