Are you sure you claimed it?
If you just downloaded it but not claimed (so it's added to your account as a bought game) then you are out of luck sadly.

Though if you did claim it you don't download the new version from the store page, you go to your game library and click download on it again and it will show a few versions to download so you can get the updated versions.

You probably skipped the claim step, couldn't be done without an account.

So you just downloaded the 1.0 release without "buying" it for free.

I suppose you could contact the dev but as it was an user error not sure if it counts.

I could be wrong but for the team star you have to complete the stage without using any units from the last time you won, as can be seen on the mission screen.

Ex if a mission had baba and bird, you can't use either of them and have to figure out a way to still win, either on the normal version or the extra mission, both work for this star.

Some mission are really tricky and you need to use enemies pathing to clear them, ex without bird or me to destroy blocks, if an enemy can do so you need to position them with other mechs to indirectly destroy blocks.

At first couldn't understand how to get the team star. 

So in case other people have trouble with it, seems you need to not use any of the mission specific mechs. 

Ex if it has blob and baba for the normal mission, you can't use them for the team star instead can use worm/bird or any of the other combinations.
