Hi, I'm a digital artist that's been working on a model for the past few months, and after finally getting everything together things seemed like they were working until I plugged in a handful of the expressions I made for the character's toggles.

It could be just because of my lack of familiarity with the program, but there shouldn't be any reason for this kind of issue? It seems like her face layer is just getting overloaded.

Here is a video I made showcasing the model's odd behavior

The tutorial I followed to make the model is this one by tsurudraws.

I have a couple of theories as to why this might be happening, though, I have no frame of reference to back up those suspicions besides my own gut feeling. It could be:

1. Too many separate eye/mouth states.
2. Too many of those separate mouth open/closed and eye open/closed states linked to one parent layer (in this case, her head/face).

The way I have things linked is like this: Body < Head < Everything else
(Her body is all one layer, and is the main parent layer).

I did manage to lessen the jittery-ness/jerking by adding some drag to her face layer, however, for the latter toggles (I'm at 5, now), it has seemingly no effect.

All of those eye/mouth layers are hidden because of the costume/toggle system, but they are all kind of just sitting there, so to an extent I can understand the growing jittery-ness after adding so many extra expressions. I feel like there would be a much, much better way to rig all of this but I simply just lack the experience.

I feel like this could also be worked around if I maybe manually plugged in the y frequency/squash (this was for the psuedo "breathing" animation) to the expressions and unlinked them?

Any help would be appreciated. Like, to the extent where if someone helps me get this working I'll straight up draw something for you (if you want). I've been working on this model for the better part of the past 3-5 months, and I could use a break.

It's very important that I get this working, though, because of personal reasons. I'd be sincerely very grateful for some assistance.

Edit: I did just go back into the program, unlinked all of the extra expression layers and deleted them, just to see if the problem persisted, and it did...? I'm at a complete loss. It would have to be a computer issue, at that point, right? I have no idea what it could be, though, especially because it was working yesterday. I went and loaded every backup file and the issue was spread across every single instance.
