It looks so much better now! Here are some of thoughts on the latest build:
- Still not sure what devotion does/gives
- The grouping of certain metrics to the "Stores" dropdown was great. Currency is much easier to understand and keep track now.
- Still confused about the houses rising and falling and changing colors. Does it signify occupancy?
- Still confused about population. Does it represent the people that are currently in town? But I see people funneling in from the edges and the number seems to stay the same. It also just fluctuates at times. Basically hard to keep track.
- What do the "culture" buildings give apart from jobs?
- Still not sure what the baray is for. Was hoping I'd be able to place a fishing wharf by it. Speaking of the fishing wharf, does it contribute only to jobs and not food? 'Cause it seems the main/only food source is rice.
- Labor vs population is easily understood now, but the learning process was a bit rough because I had to place a building, and then click on the dropdown to check if there indeed was an increase in jobs.
Big improvements from the last build :) Looking forward to the next!
It's a nice introduction to a city builder for me. I played until the creation of the temple. Here are some of my thoughts on it:
- Didn't know what the metrics on top represent. Also didn't know what increased most of them. Numbers like rice and wood were self-explanatory but population and labor are still unclear to me. Placing down a house doesn't increase population, and the number seems to fluctuate without rhyme or reason.
- Never found out where to mine sandstone.
- At first, I thought roads had to lead to rice paddies/other buldings to be able to reap rewards.
- What does devotion do?
- Does rice affect population, or do the houses? Or both?
- What does the fishing wharf do? There's no "food" metric.
- What do canals do? How do I use them? I thought I'd be able to make wet soil in their surroundings but doesn't seem like it.
- What does labor represent and how do I increase the limit?
- Why do the houses rise and fall in height?
