I think i would rather do separate animations for each pair, as that will be more unique (and would look better as it would be made specifically for that character pair) and interesting with different poses for each animation. For animations without fully visible pokemons it would be more doable to have them change. If you have any other ideas or have some kind of specific scene feel free to let me know!
