Wow this is a super polished game! Had a great time and a lot of fun even though I'm not the most experienced with rhythm games myself. Also this is a bit weird and maybe just a me thing but I kept thinking the arrow keys at the bottom (that you press when the notes match it's position) looked similar to the falling notes itself and because of that I accidentally kept mistaking a falling note for the bottom key itself. I dont even know if that explanation made sense... but I got over it eventually so it was a-okay.

I am in love with the artstyle and the vibe! The puzzles were hard tho and the guide really helped lmao- def got stuck a few times even on the easier ones.

This was an intriguing read, interesting writing style and I love the detail in the main menu when you get the good ending!

Bahaha, what a cutie! When I saw the game was called Hopium I did not expect it to be this literal lol, fun time and learned something new as well!

Thank youuu! The nostalgia aspect was something I was def trying to get across so that is great to hear

Oh my God I cannot begin to appreciate how much this means to me. I def made the story writing a bit cryptic but I'm glad you managed to extract the thematic relevance from it! Thank you for playing through and I genuinely love the feedback you've given- the fact that we've arrived on similar interpretations for the theme is so crazy. I loved your game as well and also how we both did a semi meta ending- felt that when I initially played through your game as well haha!

Woah, as someone who does not play a lot of puzzle games the way yall amped up the difficulty really had me interested as I felt like each one was significantly harder than the last, some of the later stages felt daunting to open (in a good way) the systems tie well into each other and I feel the game itself nudged me to try and find some unique solutions. I also like the set up of the characters and  not understanding what's actually going on. Great game!

Woah the ending caught me off gaurd. Great read, great art and music as well!!

I dig the artstyle for the game, I was a bit confused on what to do in some places though, like why did i keep getting booted off work every 10 mins. Still, I think I enjoyed the aspects it offered in terms of feeling dystopian job sim (something most of us go through); so I think that feeling came off quite well

I really enjoyed my time with this, felt really good to play through. There is a certain quality that meditation gives you that I feel you've translated reall well into the game's mechanics. The only nitpick I have is that I did not expect it to end that fast T-T

I am in love with the way you've worded this out I can't lie, I really appreaciate the thought you've put in verbalising what I remotely hoped to convey and this has me on cloud 9. Thank you so much!

Thank you!! I'm glad you took something from the story :) and hey I am not a native English speaker either so ESL gang rise up 🤝

Wow I love the way you've phrased it, even though I implemented this I dont think even I thought that deeply into the interaction with the player aspect, glad you managed to take something from the game's presentation in that manner though!!

PS: the music is by this wonderful artist irby:

Had a bit of trouble finding a track that I'd wanted to put in but yeah got kinda lucky digging around, unfortunately I forgot to put the credit in the game's description and dont know whether we're allowed to edit it after the submission date

Felt immediately drawn to this game the moment I started playing, I absolutely adore this style of game in general. The fishing was rewarding and the progression never felt slow or boring. the mechanic itself is quite simple butI like that it takes a backseat to the world you've created here. I love the character portraits, and the whole seal finding plot element was intriguing. The game itself feels very BLAME!  coded, dk if it was on purpose or not but BLAME! is one of my favourite media so this resonates with me quite easily. While I did not infer much from the plot itself- due to its pretty cryptic nature, I still found the choice at the end quite interesting.
Also, didnt see many people talk about it here but I love the main menu and the loading screen you've set up.

Had a lot of fun with the game but by God the game is hard. The platforming sections had me sweating and malding fr. Love the artstyle and music though and the little illustrative cutscene in the beginning. I unfortunately locked myself from finishing the game by getting stuck at the runback after the rabbit boss (accidentally fell in to the hole without turning on the moving platforS) and couldnt muster another run through :(
Still, great game, amazing visuals and a beautiful atmosphere.

Oh man, I came to play some more games tonight after work kinda annoyed and tired... but I just went through this and the positive reaffirmations really helped me out of the mental ditch I was just in lol. I like the concept of your art being intrinsically tied to the mentality you make the art in, and the rephrasing system is quite similar to what you would do in a realistic scenario where you have to work through such mental blocks. Had a lot of fun, made me feel better and I found it refreshing, Thank you!

Had fun but ofc firefox runs the game kinda clunky. The mechanics very pretty intuitive for me and the growth stages of different plants were really fun to see. The mouse cursor not being on the clicking point feels very off tho. Even so, had fun and I love the vibes

Thank you! Yes you hit the nail on the head, I had to trim it down so much to fit the jam, glad you could take out something meaningful from it

Dude you have no idea how much this means for me to hear, thank you so much! You've got me teary eyed here lol

Hi, the game does not run for me, I just get a red screen
I'm on firefox if it helps

I was confused on what I needed to do for a bit but I kept clicking stuff till I had stuff growing, then stuff started making sense and had fun with it :)

Hi,  TYSM! If you dont mind I'd like to ask, to what extent did the story make sense to you (if at all), knowing the theme of the jam and everything.

Also yes it is a mix of 3d and 2d ^u^

TYSM :)  !! I wanted this to be a first person sim like firewatch initially but I had to cut that out cuz I ran out of time lol... it was def meant to be story focused game from the start tho

Love your work as well!
