Start a new game and forget the old save files, most likely this might fix the issue

The game as far looks very good and have an interesting script (story)
But I would highly suggest to use the RenPy as the game engine.
At this point changing the engine won't be that big of a problem.
On everything else I liked the demo, good luck in development 💜
