Thank you for the detailed review!
Yeah, I couldn't really focus on the visual of the world as much, or add much exploration/alternate endings, since the combat system, as well as giving the enemies unique strengths and weaknesses already took so much time.
And also, by the final boss that you called unfair, do you mean the fire mage, or the vine princess? If it's the princess, then that was intentional, as you're not meant to win that fight.
GAMEPLAY: The attacks being "timed" is a neat concept. Unfortunately, it doesn't have much effect on the battles, as all the battles boil down to "Use your most powerful attack, then heal/replenish SP when you need to". Oh yeah, and also it's possible to go down the stairs to fight the 3 commies before you recruit the succubus, which I don't think is intentional.
Visuals: All assets and characters are stock assets. Nothing wrong with it, but it's just generic.
Audio: Again, just generic.
Theme: Could've been an interesting and funny experience, but I don't think it was done well. The game is a little clever, the best example being, when hasan (lol) stated that his group's attempt at communism "will be different this time". That's about it however, as the game makes little criticism or fun of the absurd ideologies the other characters have.
The witch power system being purposefully confusing/nonsensical could have been a great metaphor/commentary on the absurdity of human ideologies, but it wasn't expanded upon. The idea with the familiars is unique however.
oh yeah, and this comment isn't meant to be mean-spirited, it's just here to give criticism on the parts I felt could have been improved :>
