"Development is in its final moments! You'll only have to wait another 5-7 months this time!" 

Consider my hype dead. If it's gonna be 2+ years a patch, then I'm just gonna assume this game is never getting finished and bounce. 

Not gonna lie, it feels kinda icky seeing the stills and clips from the original game still being used to promote the new one since so much has changed. That feeling is made so much worse with just how little the new game is just a tutorial while the rest of this page implies that there's so much more. 

It's been months now. 

The latest bit of news was in December and dude was apparently still early enough in the next patch's development to ask what we wanted added. 
I'd say the countdown to abandonment well and truly has begun.

Back in December (more than a year after their last update) they said they had resumed development and asked what people wanted to see in 0.23, so if we ever see the update at all, it'll likely be towards the end of this year. And I wouldn't expect much from it. 

Not gonna lie, dropping a reboot after over a year of waiting wasn't a great choice, but I was at least interested in seeing where it went. 
Then I played it, and nah, this ain't it. 
It's like watching Disney get ahold of one of Grimm's Fairy Tales. The dark, mysterious atmosphere has been replaced with bright, vibrant colors with all the edges sanded off. 

The story I was invested in is gone, and I'd be lying if I said I was excited to have to start all over again given how long it took us to get to this point. 

They've more or less been saying that the update should be dropping in about a month or so since last August, so it should be ready in another month or so. 
If it's not out next month, just read this message again and it'll pretty much give you the same development update we keep getting in Discord. 

Great world building, fun characters, interesting story.
And in the full version you get all that and some hot h scenes.

As best as anyone can tell the dev just disappeared. Before the original Discord channel went down the mods mentioned that he'd sounded really excited about the new update that was almost ready and then nothing. Nobody has heard from him since.
