The game is very good but it's really asking for some slight improvements:

  • hitboxes are a bit wonky
  • enemies turn into real hitpoint sponges later, would be better imo if there was more emphasis on fast movement  and less kiting the enemy and slowly chipping away at their hp
  • if you are gonna give them so much HP, give them a health bar
  • some more feedback on hits and getting hits would be nice.

Wish it was longer. The slime sound effects really added a lot to the game experience! Good job!

I don't think the game was posted.

I like the reactions and animations and the consistent style.

This is a really fun game. I'm not so good at 3D platformers so I kept dying but I really enjoyed anyway. I love the animations especially.

Very nice art and plus points for having the source code available.

I guess I'm not as good at 2048 as I thought.

Fun explodey humans. I'm not imagining a parasite. I'm imagining a hot potato.

Fun game. only problem is sometimes the obstacles can spawn insuch a way that you can't drive past them

Managed to kill the big stupid tree. Not sure if that was it or there was anything else but I had a ton of fun. I do not fear the random encounter, I am the random encounter.

Movement and animations are really cool, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit it's a bit too difficult for me. The backwards sword jump thing is really tricky for my non-platform adapted fingers.

PAC-bulb-MAN!

Had fun! I played it for a while and might play it again later.

Very confused by how the game is supposed to work. I got game won but not sure I did it how I was supposed to (I kept alternating between clicking the red and pressing space)

There's areally cool concept and I loved the audio and graphics. Surprisingly addictive.

Anxiety simulator. Feels like being a single dad.

I was surprised that I enjoyed it so much tbh. I enjoyed the banality of people able to conjure up whatever they want and decide simply to hang out in a bar. There's something very funny about that.

MMMmmm Burgers-kind of game!

I had fun with this one. Reminded me of old flash games. It would perhaps benefit from giving the player more feedback when hitting things. Sometimes so many things were happening oon the screen at once I could not tell if I was even hitting. Same with being hit. But the core gameplay loop is solid imo.

You are very kind. Actually I should not take all the credit. The renpy forums have so much good stuff that all just works plug and play, you basically just have to duct tape the things.

I used https://github.com/renpy/dse and https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19245 tying them both together with loose duct tape (rather poorly coded duct tape too as can be seen from the source code. Nobody should code like this on a real non-jam project imo). That's one of the nice thigs about the renpy community. There is a lot of really cool things just offered for free use.

In addition the renpy discord was very helpful and answered whenever I had a question which sped things up enormously.

This is fun even though I'm really bad at typing. It's got good responsiveness and the sound effect for typing tickles my ears.

I really like the animations and the sound effects. Gave a really good game feel. This could be expanded

Based posting source code with MIT license enjoyer. Reminded me of playing shitty free MMOs as a teenager (especially stuff like kingdom of loathing). Good ending!

Haha you are very kind. I'm actually not a musician, though I do play the bass for fun. Ironically, the bass was the one I had the most trouble recording due to audio issues, which is part of the reason for me soft-plucking. I had planned to rerecord it on the last day but I got busy doing other things. I'm glad you liked the keyboard music. That was first time playing keyboards (I cheated by only using the black keys).

We tried playing together (me and the guitarist) but it becomes very obvious how amateurish we really are when we do that (bedroom musicians syndrome), so I stuck to our solo pieces instead.

You are right about the medusas being too difficult. I will most likely update the game to lessen the difficulty after the jam.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I really had a specific vibe in my head and I'm so happy that some people get it. It's my first time making a videogame. I usually make tabletop RPG systems, but there is something wonderful and lonely about videogames specifically. I saw that your entry also touched on that.

Genius + great gameplay. All along the best girl is da bomb.

ZIG + Raylib is patrician choice. I've toyed around with a similar setup for a demo but to actually make a game in a gamejam wth this takes balls. Good work!

Fun idea. I like the core gameplay loop and this could easily be build into a bigger game. There is a point where I think some enemies show up without a sprite and it's hard to tell if it's intentional or not

Thank you. The load function is actually just provided as is by the renpy engine. I was surprised it seemed to just work out of the box, tbh.

This was wonderful! I can tell you are a wonderful person. I really liked the pixel shading.
