Dude this is such a cool concept, I feel like the player being limited to controlling only something so simple as the weather is a nice metaphor to how hopeless Steve feels.
I really like the idea you had, with the rotating sun and moon feature that dictates events. It reminds me of a clock. I think there's definitely potential in a system like this, and I don't think I've played a game with this kind of system before. Of course, the game isn't going to be polished with such a short window to make a game, due to the game jam. But, I think you should definitely be proud that you finished the marathon, no matter your pace! That said, one suggestion I have is uploading your project to be played on the browser rather than having to download, makes things much easier. There are tutorials online for that.
