This game is one of the best fangames I've played. If you like Lufia 2 you'll love this game. It's basically Lufia 2 2. The puzzles are satisfying to solve. The music remixes are awesome. The story and characters are brilliantly written. I was always curious to see where the plot was going to go to next. It wasn't as predictable as I thought it was going to be with some plot twists. There was a lot of interesting world building additions along with some references to other Lufia games. There's some sick unique boss fights too that were entertaining.

The worst part of the game is the actual combat. It's not really bad, but it gets old fairly quickly. The offensive magic feels weak most of the game, so you'll be basic attacking most of the time if not healing. Introducing ATB makes it a bit more interesting at least. The EXP curve is weird. You'll have fights in the early game that are easy and give 50 exp then by the end of the game the fights are annoying and tanky and only give like 150 exp. There's secret Core enemies that you can grind on that give slightly more, but they're not worth the trouble. The combat isn't really hard anyway most of the time, so it doesn't really matter too much.

Aside from that there were a few bugs which were usually amusing, but one particular one that was annoying was the items not switching properly like 20% of the time. It definitely added some clunk when trying to solve puzzles.

I'm really glad I stumbled upon this gem. I'm not even a huge long-term Lufia fan. I only discovered the series a couple of years ago, so I don't have big nostalgia for any of this. It was a very good time pretty much all the way through. John Lufia V also seems like a cool dude as well.

9/10 too much rigas.
