This was great! It might sound weird with the subject matter but very fun and inventive character designs, and the art is very well drawn! :P Some animation for throwing and carrying could bring more sense of refinement in the top-down exploration.

I played through the demo and liked it! The level design was good at leading the player, I liked the boss battle, there was enough variety in environment and enemies for the duration of the demo, and the jump at the ending felt gratifying.

A couple of points of criticism:

-While rotating the camera with mouse, there are sometimes jumps that are very disorienting.

-Weapons could use more sense of impact through particle effects, flinch animations, recoil and sounds if this is not against the 'bloomer-shooter' spirit. :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to write feedback! Very useful to know the controls are what caused you to stop. As you said, part of the clunkiness is probably intended as I prefer responsiveness to movement delayed by animations, but there's definitely a lot still to fix and smooth out.
