Hi everyone, Michele from GV here. Yes, we used and currently use AI tools to help develop Chromablast, and we disclose that on our itch.io page because we want to be open about it.

For us, this project comes from a childhood dream: making our own game for the Amiga we grew up loving. Many years later, these tools are helping us turn that dream into something people can actually play.

This is not vibe coding stricto sensu, there’s a lot of work behind what you see and you can commonly catalog as an AI-created product: sleepless nights testing code, tracking down bugs, refining the graphics, adjusting the gameplay, introducing new ideas, and trying to make everything fit within the Amiga’s memory and performance limits when the code is badly behaving. Sometimes, that means spending an entire evening fixing a transition or revisiting something we thought was already finished. AI helps us along the way, and we still have to test, question and rework the results. We take responsibility for what we release.

We understand that people have different feelings about AI, and we respect that. For us, having help making a childhood dream come true is something we’re happy to be honest about.

We hope you’ll give Chromablast a try, no matter what. Feedback on how it looks, sounds and plays is always welcome, and helps us make it better. 🙂Thanks, Michele and GV team.

it is a very bold statement you are right and I can agree with you in certain ways, but I can assure you that in this game we put our soul and a lot of our ideas (under the hood too in the engine)...and at the end of the day, who cares if we got helped by an AI if we can fullfill a childhood dream? :) We will keep it up with the same soul, and same or greater effort to publish the game :).. thanks for your endorsement.
