I get a black window for around a second, and then it crashes.

Very nicely done. Excellent all around, and I can see why Zach Barth likes it :) UI polish especially is top notch, and it does a LOT to help you understand why things are working / not-working.

Zachtronics fans: this is very much in your wheelhouse. It's a no-brainer purchase, pick it up.
