I joined with only a day left and made a pretty short game, around 5 minutes, but still poured some love into it https://itch.io/jam/theveryseriousjuniperdevgamejam/rate/4719653

thank you very much, it’s good to hear that it was actually funny. The credits was actually one of the first things I wrote (I stopped halfway through writing the dialogue to just type out the credits on a google doc in the middle of work so I could copy paste it when I got home) I knew it’d be a good bit and pretty quick to implement.
Okay so Im gonna give this 5 stars across the board because I think it excels in every category, I enjoyed it a lot, personally, even though it was probably the most stressful puzzle game I've ever played in my life. I think it had a really creative premise, and some really cool and unique mini games troughout it, kinda reminded me of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. Visually I think it was really cute and polished, nothing felt unfinished or like a last second "ehh, I'll just toss this in cause I don't have time". Audio was great, I think it was used quite effectively so that you didn't explicitly have to LOOK at every single module on the lock, some of them would give you enough information just by listening for their sounds, and I think that was implemented masterfully. And of course, very very very very serious game
Only gripe was that the snail minigame's leaf had unpredictable physics, but nothing too major, not enough to drop my rating. Might have just been because I'm playing on a crappy Chromebook or somethin' idk.
SUPER solid visuals and audio, although hey were simplistic it certainly felt like a fully polished game. Was pretty fun, despite also being simplistic, but I think that simplicity added to the game. Nothing too stressful, nothing so in-depth or complicated, just a nice, fun game that I really like. good on ya
Okay, so it took me a WHILE to understand how it all worked, for some reason my little pea brain couldn't wrap my head around it.
But once I did, HOLY MOLY, this quickly became one of the best games I have played in this jam. First off, so enjoyable, figuring out the best combos to go for, and all the variations of spinners and dancers made it really fun to try out new things. SO creative as well, it felt like a really unique theme to go for with the ballerinas, and that led to some amazing art as well, like OMFG the art is so amazing, hats off to the artist, the shop sprites AND the board sprites were all so good. And audio was great as well. Out of all the games in this jam, this one NEEDS to become a full game, I will be heartbroken if something a great as this doesn't get expanded upon.
There's just so much that could be expanded upon, like with more Ballerinas, maybe some way to make the board smaller initially then the player has to find a way to increase the size of it, or maybe "randomly" generated board layouts for each level so the player has to find new layouts for their ballerinas (because I DID end up using pretty much the same layout each time, although the pinwheel and turbines changed that.) I just think its so good, okay thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
5 stars across the board. so good so good SO GOOD
First off, Visually stunning. Love the artwork throughout the game. It took only a few moments to understand how everything worked, and when I got it, it was very fun to play. I like what the printer also for some reason required a crank, just to stay on theme. At then end of the day, giving this a very high rating, especially in the seriousness department. LOVE IT
REALLY REALLY loved this game. It took me a second to grasp how it worked, but once I I'd it was incredibly fun. Really creative concept as well, and definitely encapsulates the "Spin to Win" theme. Loved when I extended the windmill's fan blades and started bludgeoning the guy to death. The art is SOOO good, hats off to the artist, they I'd an amazing job. And to the composer as well, loved the music.
And more than anything, a very serious entry to the jam
I woulda added audio but I was already on my last leg and down to the wire when uploading it last night. I had an idea of making all of the sound effects with my mouth ‘cause I saw this other interesting game that did that a while back and I thought it was cool and funny, but either way I don’t have access to a good microphone.
But I’m glad you liked it! I liked making it, too.
Thank you so much for the kind words and especially for the feedback! We definitely planned to add more stuff like parts, but in classic game jam fashion, we didn’t have the time to. Very big shout out to the (incredibly talented) artist and composer (whose links can be found on the game page), as without them, the game’s visuals and sounds wouldn’t be nearly as commendable
Really Really REALLY good game, I enjoyed myself thoroughly while playing it. Unique interpretation of the theme, where the people are invincible so you can throw them around willy-nilly. Super awesome artstyle as well as sound effects and music. Really well done, really well-polished, and I agree with that other comment I saw that said it felt like nothing was missing or had to be cut out, it just felt like a complete game and that is a great achievement for a gamejam!!!
INSANELY well polished and cool game for a game jam, this is genuinely so awesome. First off, loved the concept for the gameplay of choosing what special effects you want by feeding the demon guy some combination of body parts, I thought that was creative. I enjoyed it very much, and it runs very well on my crappy old Chromebook. The art is AMAZING, props to the artist, give 'em a high five for me. And It fits the theme very well, love the little small-print when you get a game over. I feel very confident in my 5-Stars across the board rating. I haven't played many of the games yet but I wouldn't be surprised if this one won, it's just so well polished! GOOD JOB TO THE WHOLE TEAM!!!
Love the game. The artstyle is very VERY charming and I loved the part after you die where you get to see all the enemies you killed die in order to tally up the deaths, that was very cool. Unfortunately I can't try it out too much because my crappy Chromebook lags like 3 minutes into the game, but genuinely really fun :) Good job!!!
I am incredibly happy that you enjoyed the game, and do not fret, I am already in the progress of making more levels and content and gimmicks for the full release of the game!
As for that glitch where you can jump at the same time the platform launches you, I am intimately familiar with it, as many people have had that issue. So I am planning on fixing while I work on new levels!
Thank you for playing!
That you and everyone else has enjoyed it so much makes me feel so awesome. I’m very glad that you enjoyed it.
And I’m glad my simplicity and small scope helped me make a very well polished game that you can call your favorite of the Game Jam! Thank you so much for the feedback, and seriously, the fact that you claim this is your favorite game means so much to me, it makes me feel like it’s all worth it.
And when it comes to your game development, keep on working hard and having fun! I remember when I was only a few weeks into game development, and you can always get better!
The pixel art and characters are SO CUUUUUUUUTE! The story is as well! I loved the game! The gameplay was such a nice balance of fun and difficult and funny, and while I've had trouble understanding the controls for other games in the game jam, the simple minigames were introduced in a way that made it easy to understand exactly what to do with them. And the music is so nice as well!
The game is just so well polished, and I would not be surprised if this was one of the top games chosen by the judges! Loved the ending too :) SO CUTE
The stylized graphics are awesome! Although it looks simple, the designs are really cute, and the gameplay, while simple as well, is still quite fun! I loved the enemies having different colors, and that final boss was a really cool surprise, as I thought it was just gonna be an infinite dungeon crawler! Very cool!
