I guess I misspoke. I realize that there is a default setting. I am looking forward to a longer setting guide for Vald. I am anticipati g that that will also be a lot of fun to explore.

This is great news!
Having something that is ready to run that present a weird and scary (and silly?) world for players to explore is such a boon for systems like Cairn and OSE.
I know that OSE effectively has Dolmenwood and that there isn't an official campaign setting for Cairn. But something like Wildrendrem that helps the system sing for players is very welcome. I am excited to explore it and hope to move on to Volume II when we are done.
If other settings come out specifically for Cairn from Phantom Mill (or other publishers including Yochai himself), I think my players and I (mostly my family) will enjoy exploring those together as well.
Thanks for this effort, Yochai.
I just ordered this from Ninepin Press and can't wait to run it for my family. I gave them some tidbits that I have read so far that they can't wait to play. I am going to be running it in Cairn (our current favorite system) and I appreciate that the book already has Cairn stats available.
The one thing that I noticed that would be helpful would be to have the travel distances between the points of interest on the map be listed as days or watches. To your knowledge, has this been done anywhere?
Thanks for such and amazing product. The more I read, the more excited I am to run it for my family and I am already hoping for Christmas funds that will enable me to late back Volume Two.
Hi Dice Goblin,
Is there any chance that you will make this available as a print on demand product on Drive Thru (or even better Lulu).
PDF's are great, but I really have an easier time learning games from physical books. I love Cairn and have three books for it (the core rules, the core rules spiral bound, and the bestiary) printed from Lulu (the quality is great).
These rules look amazing by the way.
I definitely encourage you to build out, a hopefully illustrated in your style, bestiary as well. That, and some of the other suggestions in this thread would make for a really nice full featured game.
Having the percentage to be an impostor go up in a bad from a game design perspective. It needs to be completely random or else the game falls down in the long run just like @anon1233 pointed out.
While being the Impostor is fun, it is also fun to beat the impostor by completing all the tasks on the ship.
I personally love not being the Impostor and ejecting them out of the air lock.
