Welcome to the Great Battles community!

Introduce yourself in this topic: which wargames did you grow up with, and which battle would you like to see next?

This board is also the place for strategy talk, after-action reports (AARs) and finding opponents for online play. Post your time zone and the scenario you want to play.

English and Polish are both welcome here.

  • One idea per topic, with a short title: [Idea] Night turns, [Rules] Optional supply rule, [UI] Bigger counter labels.
  • Before posting, search the board. If the idea is already there, reply and +1 it instead of starting a new topic.
  • Say why you want it: what situation in a game made you miss it?
  • Rule suggestions: name the rule, describe how it works at the table, and say whether it should be an optional rule.

I read everything. Popular, well-described ideas get picked up first.

One bug per topic, please. Copy this template:

Game version: (bottom-left corner of the main menu, e.g. 0.2.1)
Mode: hot-seat / vs computer / LAN / online, scenario name
What I did: 1. … 2. … 3. …
What I expected:
What happened:

Attach what you can:

  • a screenshot,
  • your save file (in the saves… subfolders next to the log below),
  • the log: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Grand Operations\Great Battles\Player.log
(paste the folder path into the Explorer address bar; if the game crashed and you restarted it, attach Player-prev.log too).

Crashes, rule mistakes and online desyncs get top priority. Thanks for helping!

Sharing a battle you made? Here's how.

  1. In the Scenario Editor, open your pack and use Export ZIP… to get a single .zip with the whole pack.
  2. Start a new topic on this board titled like this:
[Scenario] Name – front, year, turns (e.g. [Scenario] Crossing the Vistula – Eastern Front, 1944, 8 turns)
  3. Attach the .zip and write a few lines:
    • the historical situation and what each side has to do,
    • recommended side for beginners / vs. the computer,
    • map size and rough play time,
    • the game version you built it with.
  4. Players install it via Import pack… in the scenario browser.

Please share only maps and scenarios you made yourself (or have permission to share). Feedback goes as replies in the scenario's topic, and the best battles may end up in the game.
