This interesting take the classic game of poker involves the novel mechanic of being able to further alter your deck via choosing a card to pass to your left in turn for gaining a potential hand-winning new card. While I don’t personally consider myself to be much of a poker guy myself, I found the new rule to provide additional nuance and additional opportunities to make interesting choices, making the game as a whole more engaging. Overall, I found the game rules to be clear, understandable, and quite fun.

Delve has a very creative concept that manages to combine board and card games by allowing to make a “dungeon” out of the deck provided to each player. The rules are straightforward, our goal and win conditions was clear, I never felt confused by the rules at any point. The board building system provides and element of long term strategy to the game, while the random card selection, the unknown rank of the cards you need to pass through, and the use of dice rolls to pass through the dungeon keeps each game unpredictable and fresh. It was overall a very fun experience and I would recommend it to anyone interested in an innovative game in the playing card genre.
After looking at feedback from our first playtest, I have refined the rules document and added an example game to demonstrate what a standard game should look like when the rules are being followed properly.
Here is the link to the refined rules document:

After taking a little bit of time to figure out the game rules, the experience ran smoothly and clearly. The act of using branches and finding pairs acts as an decently engaging gameplay loop, and being able to use collected pairs to attack your opponents and heal both yourself and the others players adds additional strategy and nuance to the game.
The game seems fun, but the rules are relatively confusing for beginners, we only got in a turn and a half due to spending most of are time just trying to figure out how the game was supposed to be played. Once we got into it the progression of the game felt good, and it was easy to understand how the game was progressing and what was happening once it started, although we were unable to complete the game. I think it has good potential, I think if there was more time to play this game on the table we would have had a much better time with this game.
