I'm having an issue where the backroads are flashing black and its very disorienting. Is there any way to fix this?

So I am doing a charisma build and I cant fight like at so my strategy for enemies was seduce or surrender but with a naga this is impossible or game over but this wasn't a big deal at first because I could just avoid the lairs and not worry about it but I was leaving from the mossy expanse back to Irona and a naga spawned on a normal tile so I cant go anywhere but the mossy expanse

So I've been trying to do nightmare runs and I can do most of it but I am struggling with the room that has a switch two smoke things and one pink haired girl. Anyone have any theories.
