Wow. That's all I could think; wow.

The characters and the writing. Seeing each of the characters react and cope with the existential dread from the end of the world made them feel much more alive. Hell, it even made ME reflect on myself as a person with how philosophically heavy it got. 

I liked how abrupt the endings are when the THE happens. It genuinely felt like, "Oh shit, that really just happened.".

Overall, this is a 10/10 masterpiece. The writing gives you so much to think about. (This probably doesn't make any sense but I'll type it in anyways: this VN felt like pillow talk.)

Sorry, worded that one like boo boo now that I'm looking back at it. But basically I was trying to say I was inspired by Cameron and Devon's healthy relationship and how I, as a person would use their dynamic as a stepping stone.

This was super intense

So, a watered-down summary of what went down (because I forget easily): Grey and Mark decide to get out of town to escape Virgil's antics after the whole sewer thing. As they're driving out of town, Mark gets in a grumpy mood due to the stress and suddenly they start arguing. 

Grey attempts to reassess the situation as they're driving down a blizzard by making him open up about his issues. Mark admits he was lonely and in grief after his brother's death which explains why he would take pick up random men (Grey)from the streets. Grey asks about the other men he picked up. Mark replies by sharing the last dude he attempted to pick up tried to rob him after intercourse- Mark beat the shit out of him, of course(I notice Mark dodges the question about what happened to the other 6 men). 

After some more pushing, Mark practically exclaims Grey is the only reason why he keeps pushing on with life. At this point, Mark is clearly mentally unstable so he screams and floors 130 MPH straight down the road. Everything goes white and BOOM, suddenly there's no snow and the scenery looks like summer. (I'm assuming they exited Virgil's little environment.) The car doesn't work anymore so they start walking. 

Mark is hit with guilt and starts apologizing to Grey. Grey nonchalantly forgives him for it because he's determined to put all of that in the past to "fix" Mark. Hours later, they run into an invisible wall on the road preventing them from going further. It's nighttime at this point so they decide to go in the woods to set up camp.

They have their little happy moment laughing, gazing the stars and getting frisky. Eventually, the nagging thought of his brother's photo come up. 

Grey asks Mark what's up with the photo next to the TOYS. Mark comes clean and admits he had romantic relations with his brother(keep in mind, the way he phrases his confession is as if he doesn't have any remorse towards his actions). Grey is repulsed by this and runs towards the woods without hearing Mark out. In the woods, 

Grey throws up from the shock and does some self-reflecting. Grey comes to a conclusion he'll give Mark a chance to explain under the pretense that he doesn't know the full story between Mark and Joshua. 

Then, Grey realizes he left Mark behind and rushes back to the camp. On the way, Grey encounters a mangled version of Mark and realizes this is the consequence for leaving him behind. Grey immediately picks Mangled Mark and dashes straight towards the road. Once he reaches the car(with the key still in the ignition), he reverses and floors the pedal back to New York. 

When Grey returns back into the blizzard, Grey almost runs into a truck from the opposite lane. He jerks the car to the right and crashes straight into a tree. Grey blacks out and awakens to being held up in the air (literally) by Virgil. Virgil mocks their escape plan and SLAMS Grey to the ground.

Gets me wondering what that outer era really was and how come Virgil wasn't able to reach them?

Definitely one of Echo's best works. It reshaped my mind on what a gay relationship could truly be.

Not gonna lie, it's been a year since the last Mark update so forgot most of the minor plot points.

Glad to see you bouncing back

Disregarding the current dilemma Echo Project is facing, I thought this short story was pretty funny and comical. Filler much? Yeah, but there's really nothing we can do but wait and see what the dev team does moving forward.

Pretty much. They're in a really tight position right now. Hope they can get back on their feet soon

It was an okay chapter. Can't wait to see what's next.

Did you test if the game froze when you saved after the currency exchange? This is my main bug issue. (On version build 22)

You can always just make an extra save file with the sex scene you like so you can look back at into it in the future.

In the new build 22 update, saving into a save slot freezes my game and not allowing me to save. 

Also, losing a pirate fight in-between location softlocks your game.

Edit: after some experimenting, this save freeze bug only happens after I give my silver coins to the "angry men" slusland

Absolutely fantastic update. Got shivers from sentimental moments and audio design. Worth the half a year wait.

this is amazing. the story,  atmosphere,  sound effects and the visuals made for a eye-opening and daunting experience. assuming this is your first time developing a visual novel, it has a lot of potential. looking forward for more 

finished and it was worth the wait

Will the Archives function be our album for all the CGs and soundtracks? If so, I really want to revisit all the art without having to going to old save files.

Yes!!! the way everything was executed in this short novel is excellent. I hope we get another cast of characters like these again. Their characters, struggles, and interactions feel so realistic/heartfely. I'm telling you man these Echo writers are experienced fucks.

I love the epilogue. It's a realistic depiction of recovering from trauma. They realize things will never be the same as it used to be bc of echo. But even so, they yearn for a future that may or may not exist. 

When is build 8  going to be public?

It was a journey following the development of this project. It was truly a pleasure to see the end product

While I agree with Cameron obtaining psychic powers from drugs is incoherent and illogical to the rest of the echo series, I don't agree with how this compromises Howly's writing in the future. 

Of course, I get this is all up for speculation and we'll only be able to fully criticize this further once the plot continues on.

Splendid update. Absolutely loved how Cameron tied in with the entities of Echo. Hope to see more coming from Howly and Arches characters.

I saw the ending of Day 24 coming but damn that buildup was beautiful.
