I assume you're already familiar with Trevor Henderson's Mystery Flesh Pit - I'm a fan of that and this reminds me a lot of that project... The Permian Basin Superorganism is widely known and (until 2007) celebrated in that timeline, and while known *about* nobody is sure of what/how/why it is (I have some suspicions about what Anodyne Industries knows 😨). I guess what I'm saying is that it's possible to know about something but still have a mystery, if that helps with what you're thinking about for this project. As for me, I'm very seriously thinking about a solo Liminal Horror Documentary Mode session because I'm a huge sucker for SCP-type "Roadside Picnic" paranatural shenanigans. 😸

This game is my New Favorite Thing, however I'm rolling up some characters and the equipment section isn't clear on what they get - PCs get the Investigator Bundle, but do they then get one of each category (Weapon, Gear, Memento) and THEN a roll on the Bonus Item table, or just the Bundle and a Bonus Item?
