I'll admit I was going to start this with an opening spiel based on the 'Mario the man vs Mario the idea, Dr Pepper? PERCHANCE' nonsense paper, but I feel like if I continue shitposting instead of trying to overcome the nervousness of actually asking if anyone's interested in making a VN, I'm going to have someone (correctly) throw a boot at me.
SO, I'll be more honest and straightforward. Hi there! Name's GhostKaiju; you might not recognize me, known for writing such things as a transfem serial killer and her various fun escapades of Really Intense Dissociation & Gratuitous, Horrific Violence, and how she's destroyed everything in her path.
Naturally, this makes me a great match for writing smut that happens to involve an anthropomorphic wolf--
But wait! I'm not just an idea girl! ... Okay, not just a writing idea girl! I can also do character designs; maybe not finalized drafts, but, hey, I think these examples look pretty good
But what does this all mean? I can draw a cute fluffy furry and a scary horror minotaur bara. I can write a scary trans girl who is going through all the trauma and show that even a horrible remorseless villain is not removed from their own plights, nor that this grants them some special reprieve or absolution of their actions. But what does that mean I'm even looking to ask here, and what does that have to do with anything about a furry visual novel jam? What am I offering to you, and what am I asking of you in turn?
Simple: Also My Money! And yours.
To better explain, I will be honest about my intentions. I am coming to this jam, wanting to do a fun writing and art exercise with everyone else; to make something we can all like in the course of a month.
Also, that thing would ideally be a queer Folk Horror, with a personal inclination towards it being a transfem or generally trans experience story et large. A nice idea, but one that'd be difficult, because I am a complete newcomer to the idea of making a VN, and do recognize that these kind of great passion projects do not come easily. So, I am reaching out and asking, if anyone would like to join me on us all pooling together to make something great and cool. Or, to say more bluntly: I am wanting to make an Art Commune/Project Team for this jam, so we can all support another or pitch in together to reach out to other artists to enrich our own project.
This is more me asking we create a team more than a member offering a singular service; this is not me saying "YOU, I need YOU to make THIS for ME!", nor do I have any wish for this to be a kind of "I, the first among equals, ask you All to--"; I honestly just want to come into this VN, make some friends and cool art, and introduce a lot of furries to some spooky (and maybe a bit spicy, as is appropriate for the limits of this jam) shit, and for us to pool our talents to support another through that, commission and enrich other artists or the like for such a project, and sorta see what comes from there!
