I think the tree has plans

Yeah thats because they are trying to escape the furious cat Mom hunting food monsters for her children.

The only way of escape is through the gate which Is on the left side of the game / window, if they break that gate the game is also over!

Yhea it releases you after 2 moves
Its suppose to be like that so you can you those moves on the other worm freely.

The puzzle is completable.
