You’re absolutely right that the first level is confusing at the moment. We didn’t manage to add a tutorial before the submission deadline, so the core mechanic isn’t explained in-game yet.
Here’s how the puzzle works:
The mother ray can free the puffer fish from the small cage.
The puffer fish is the only one strong enough to swim through the inverse water flow.
Once it passes through, the puffer can open the gate from the other side so the mother can continue.
*It’s also good to know that the mother ray can gather small fish, and they can be intentionally scattered in certain areas to solve puzzles later on.
We’ll make this much clearer with an in-game or video tutorial.
