Hey! First of all, thank you so much for playing! We're glad you enjoyed the demo. We're sorry about the performance issues, we haven't had much opportunity to debug the game on Linux, that's something we definitely need to improve. I'll take note of your feedback (input issues etc) and we'll keep a look for these problems so we can fix them in the future. Again, thank you so much for playing! πŸ˜„

Thank you so much! We're really happy to know you enjoyed it! πŸ₯°

Oh, I see. Thank you so much for reporting the issue and taking the time to record it! This really helps us. We'll investigate it further and see if we can find it and solve it!

We're aware that the trees are heavy, that's something we'll change for the next version.

All of our camera processing is done in _physics_process, could you maybe send us a video showing the problem? We haven't been able to reproduce it.

Our loading is a bit complicated, but I'll try to explain. First we create a cache with all the materials in every level that will be used, then when you go to a new level, we use another thread to load it. We place it in the correct position in front of the player, where it would be if everything was loaded at once, and then we free the previous level. Check out the background loading tutorial in the Godot's documentation.

Yeah, it is on purpose because otherwise the game always crashed on Linux 😞 We will probably keep it like that for the demo, but once we get to work on the full game we'll look for a fix for that as well!

Hey! Thank you for playing! The game has some pretty bad performance issues at the moment, we're working on a patch to fix this that should come out in the next few days.  Hope you give it another try later when the second chapter of the demo comes out! πŸ˜„
Also, didn't know about that video until now!!! Thanks for letting us know!

Wow, thank you so much!!! πŸ’—πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

Thank you! Really happy you liked it! And now I look forward to our deal with Netflix for an animated series about Iris... hahahah

Thank you so much for playing! We're really glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, I love this color for the first level, specially because it contrasts really well with the grey scale world!

Also thank you so much for the feedback! It's something we hadn't seen in playtests, I think, and we'll certainly keep an eye on from now. We actually plan on making key remapping a feature in the full game, it's not something we'll be able to work on for the demo, though. Maybe in a later update!

We can't wait for you to play the second chapter, we're working on it right now and it should be out in a few months. Hope you like it as well!

Oh, and glad to know you haven't moved forward with your project, otherwise we'd have to sue you!!! I'm kidding, of course! hahaha

The full version of the game is still in very early development. The demo is a separate game that works as a prologue to the story of the full game. But we will release the second chapter of the demo in a few months and it will be on steam for free! We'll make sure to contact you then! πŸ₯°

Hi! Currently we're having some issues with dynamically loading parts of the map, for example. We're working on some optimizations, but we know that a lot of these problems are being solved in Godot 4, so if you can wait for its release you'll have less things to worry! πŸ˜…
We don't know if we'll end up making the switch to the new version, as it would break a lot of stuff, but we think we can work around most of these issues.

(Important thing to note is I'm not the programmer, so I can't give you many details hahah You can join our Discord and talk to him if you want, though!)

Hi! Thank you so much for playing and we're so happy you enjoyed it! Just watched your video and it was a really nice run. Did you go all the way to the end? The third level is one of my favorites!

About the issues you mentioned, we've tried some changes to the jump/dash, but we couldn't find an alternative that felt natural and integrated well with the rest of the mechanics, so we might need to experiment more in the future.
And yeah, unfortunately we weren't able to optimize the demo as much as we hoped for before the release. We're trying some stuff and should have a new patch for that in hopefully a week or so.

Thank you for the feedback, it's always really helpful! And we hope to see you playing again once we release the second chapter of the prologue! πŸ₯°

Hi! We have very limited experience in other engines, so we can't really make that comparison. But we really enjoy working with 3D in Godot. There are some issues and limitations, but we can mostly work around them and we hope the engine keeps growing and getting better!

We love the engine and have been using it since we started making games, so it was only natural we'd make our first big project in it as well! πŸ˜„

Thank you so much! πŸ’—πŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

Thank you so much! We're really glad you liked it!
