We'll consider that as using existing assets you own the rights to.  There's nothing stopping you from copying the shader line-for-line anyways, so you might as well just use it. As long as they weren't made specifically for this jam, we'll see it as your in-house library of game assets. Keep in mind that it could be hard to make pre-existing assets work with the theme of the jam, so trying to force them into the project could backfire! At the end of the day we just want to see some cool projects made!

Yes, even then. Rules are rules, making small exceptions here and there will only cause unfairness towards other developers. There are no game jams that would allow for you to make changes after 馃憤

Hey, thanks for being interested in the jam! You're not allowed to update the game after the jam's deadline. In your case it could be a few minor fixes, but others will make drastic changes and just keep adding to the game, which makes it so they have more time than others. Of course you can keep working on your project after the jam is over, but you can't submit new versions after the deadline 馃憤

No work allowed before the theme is announced, otherwise it would be unfair towards everyone else!

You don't have to "own" the assets, you have to "own full legal rights" which just means the same thing as "having fulllegal rights". So in this case the icons would be fair game!
I'll rephrase it to avoid confusion in the future 馃憤

Ah man, that was the plan... :(

I guess since the surprise would be gone now we actually have to host the jam

2 weeks, from April 1st to April 15th 馃

Of course!

Yes, they would win multiple prizes. If your game is so good that it gets 1st place in art, 3rd place in theme and 2nd place in fun, you deserve to get all three prizes. Of course we hope to see a big variety of winners, but if a game is that good that it wins multiple prizes, it deserves those prizes. 馃憤

Oh that was an old answer to that question we accidentally left there from when the jam was planned to work differently. I've removed that sentence, thanks for bringing it up!
