Hey, thank you very much for playing! I can't update the game while people are still voting for the jam, but I will add the ability to jump with W as soon as I can. As for the game loading, for some reason the game takes some good seconds to load for the first time, but somehow this only happens in the browser version of the game.

Answering your question: I'm a solo dev. The music and sound are not mine but the rest I did on my own. I specialized in computer science and programming and make pixel art as a small hobby. I saved time to polish the game by making it as simple and unrisky as I could (a platformer).

Agree with the Niblo statement, I will now commit sudoku... (sarcasm)

Did you find Niblo?

Could this be the Death Stranding of penguins? Jokes aside, fun game.

Cute art and animations. The start is a bit slow, but once you have your second penguin, the progression feels much more smoother.

Long live Godot! :D

Sadly the music is not mine haha. But you can find the library I got it from in the credits section from the game's page.

Not being able to see where the player is at the start of a level is a fair point. Next update I'll change the transition shader so it circles around the player position.

Hey, thank you for the insightfull feedback :). Let's go point by point.

  • The original idea for the game comes from a Touhou common meme where Cirno freezes frogs, so I thought it would be fun to make a game where you are a frog trying to become an ice cube.
  • On the last days of the jam I started asking myself the same question as you do. "Is the thermometer maybe too small, should I add some sound cue?". One of my teachers told me the shivering effect plus the particles was good, so I brushed it aside. In hindsight, I will make a bigger thermometer and add sound to the next update.
  • The frog sprite was the first thing I drew and I've grown fond of the lil' fellah. It was born as a bit of a joke against another teacher that said 8x pixel art is harder than 16x. I wanted to use the jam color palette so maybe the frog melts into the background and is a bit hard to follow. I will probably add a colored outline in the next update for visual clarity.
  • About the dialog... well, I wasn't thinking about it as a proper dialog, but more of simply an UI element that  you close, therefore my logic went towards "Continue-> A, Back -> B; You want to close this window, so the logic is Back, so the button is B". I have no problem adding the option to close it withA.

Thanks again for playing the game, I'm quite proud of it :)

Amazing little game! The thing I enjoyed the most is the snow mechanic. Very simple, but with a high potential.

Fun little game. I'm a big fan of the truck doing a front flip! XD

I just changed the keys layout, you can now use J and K instead of E and Q so you can play with both cands more comfortably.

I just updated the game with a couple of bugfixes. Luckily, it shouldn't happen anymore or at the very least, it won't stop your progress. Thank you for playing! :)
