Is there a "proper" way in supposed to close the game? I opened it this morning to my progress wiped and my gallery all cleared. I don't mind starting over I'm just curious if that's normal

I bought this game last year and it wasn't compatible. Seen the creator respond to somebody with this issue and they said it would be worked on. I came back today after a year and still the same problem. No disrespect to the creator, just bummed. Oh well, I tried.
