“The Broken. The Chaos. The Anchor.” — THE EXECUTIONER

Ludo-narrative Prospect? Creative Monster?

Hi, I’m The Executioner. I never set out to build a system — I just wanted to write a story with Jester in it, and somewhere along the way it turned into this.

How This Actually Started

  • I've got lifelong social anxiety, so I've never played a live D&D session, never DM'd, never really been part of the community despite loving the games. I sat down in D&D Beyond just to build a character for myself, mostly to see if I could. That character was supposed to stay in the story. It didn't.
  • What started as a personal sandbox turned into From the Depths of Darkness... (FTDOD) — a deep solo engine and narrative-first campaign that I never actually planned to finish, let alone release. I'm not a math person. I'm not a rules person, if I'm honest. But I'm stubborn, and I have a hard time letting something exist if it's not right, so I kept going back in, cutting what didn't earn its place, until hundreds of bloated pages became something I could actually stand behind.
  • I used AI throughout — not as a writer, but as an auditor and a sounding board. I still did the actual building. If a system didn't hold up, I made it hold up, or I cut it.
