Amazing game! I love the style, world-building, and writing choices so far. The scene with Gia testing our new hardware felt sooo intimate. ๐Ÿ˜ณ I love you, weird, sci fi, cyborg emotional mind-melding possibilities...

I wanted to let you know that I think I ran into a bug in the browser demo? I chose "Yes" to go through with Gina's job at my computer at home, but changed my mind and loaded my save; I did this because I had given a homeless person a map just outside her shop, and I wanted to see if I could get the promised 100 credits, and stop receiving the "poor" debuff every night before sleep. Even though the demo was probably close to being done, this is the kind of loose end I worry about in a resource/stress management game, lol.

When I loaded up my most recent save, I went to the computer and said "No" instead of "Yes", but it just said, "I'll do it later", and I wasn't able to access my emails. Deciding to see if I could check them afterward, I tried to interact with the computer again and say, "Yes"--but I couldn't click on the computer, or the chair, or even the window or the bed after that. Even loading my save and choosing "Yes" just closed the dialogue box, not letting me go through with the hack or click on anything in the room. Loading my save let me sleep for another night, but the terminal behaved the same--treated the "Yes" like a "No" and made everything in the room unclickable. ๐Ÿค”

Somehow I was able to resolve this and go through with the hack after refreshing the web page--I didn't want to try that initially because I wasn't sure I had my privacy settings set up in a way that would preserve my save files at all, but they turned out to be just fine. Maybe the save files are stored in cookies, and whatever issue wasn't letting me go through with the hack was stored in the cache? idk! just thought i'd let you know though :)

Thank you again for sharing your work! I've wishlisted the game on steam, and I'm looking forward to the full release! โ˜บ

(1 edit)

Hi! First of all, thank you so much for making this incredible game! I'm having lots of fun with it! :)

Second, I've noticed a few minor bugs which aren't affecting my gameplay for the most part, but I thought I'd bring them to your attention.

  1. The digimon in my 2nd and 3rd memory slot didn't age up the day after I hatched them, and were still 0/4. The next day they aged up properly to 1/8 (they had evolved by then). The digimon in my fourth slot is aging normally, so it appears to be older than them, lol (2/8).
  2. In the HP training game, it seems like the Bakemon are both supposed to drop bombs. In my game at least, only the bottom one drops bombs... However, I would rather this remain the case ๐Ÿ˜ฉ I think this minigame is hard enough as-is, and if both Bakemon dropped bombs as it seems to have been intended, I think it would be impossible to build HP... Maybe there can just be one Bakemon from now on? ๐Ÿ˜… Of course, it is your game, so the difficulty level is something you can place at your discretion.
  3. My Vorvomon evolved into Meramon instead of Growlmon, despite having more Happiness than Discipline. ๐Ÿค” I acquired a D-Terminal after this digimon evolved into a rookie, and realized it did make sense for Guilmon to be a more "laidback" rookie with fewer training boosts than mine had... I must say, your evolution tree is really well thought-out in places like these! The shorthand is also, for the most part, fairly straightforward to parse--particularly after scrolling through other people's comments, and seeing your replies explaining the shorthand. That said, the Guilmon/Vorvomon tree strikes me as a little more ambiguous in some places...?

This evolution tree shows that both Meramon and Growlmon can be achieved with a high ATK stat, but Growlmon requires Happiness, whereas Meramon requires Discipline. My initial interpretation of this was that, if I wanted Vorvomon to evolve into Growlmon, my Happiness had to be higher than Discipline... but despite ensuring that with several sirloin steaks, it evolved into Meramon anyway. ๐Ÿค”

My first thought was, is this a bug? But then I thought, well, maybe it's a random chance? If a Vorvomon with high ATK who is Happy and Disciplined evolves, maybe it's a coin-toss between Meramon and Growlmon...? If that's the case, I suppose this way of annotating the evolution tree makes sense, and I can't really think of a way to improve it. But if Growlmon needs to be Happy and not Disciplined, it strikes me that his spot on the tree should be labeled "๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜Ž", in the same way WarGrowlmon (Yellow) is labeled "๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿค“", right? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ญ

Also, out of curiosity, why is Discipline not indicated by an emoji for SkullMeramon and WarGrowlmon? And what do the 'plus' and 'minus' signs indicate? ๐Ÿค” Low discipline = SkullMeramon, and High discpline = WarGrowlmon...? Would a "๐Ÿ˜Ž" not suffice, or does it have to be MORE Disciplined than Laidback... but still at the low end of Disciplined? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Like, 50-75%...?

Lastly, I know you encourage people to join the Discord if they have questions, comments, bugs to report, or in-depth inquiries like these, but it's kind of a bummer how many online communities and game guides have moved to transient chatroom clients like Discord these days. It would be a breath of fresh air to have a simple Web 1.0 style guide hosted on neocities or something, where people could find a simple FAQ. I suspect it would ease the burden on the Discord as well, if you have moderators handling that. Some people just don't want to get in another Discord server just to play a game, you know? ๐Ÿฅบ

All that said, thank you so much for all your tireless efforts! I scrolled through a couple of your development logs looking for information on a couple of gameplay features I wanted more information about, and every single person who I saw requesting their personal favorite digimon be implemented, you have since added to the game! I admire your dedication, perseverance, and continued support for this fantastic little game and its community. Thank you again!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’–โœจ

Very cute art and music! Thank you for sharing a short and sweet game :')

Very wholesome and healing! I am intrigued by the Mushroom Wizard. :) Thank you for sharing!!

Very cute! Gameplay feels satisfying, and the sounds, colors, and shape of the UI create a really harmonious aesthetic together. :) Mesmerizing! I've wishlisted the game on Steam; looking forward to the full release. <3

So cute! Thank you for sharing this charming, satisfying game! I think having benches for spirits to sit on would be very cute. If they are visiting they deserve to chill :)

Also, sometimes sidewalks and signs/mailboxes/fences can't be built at the odd corner of a house or body of water? I wanted to put fences all around the pond so nobody fell in for example, but it wouldn't build the last fence I needed to close it. ๐Ÿค”

Saw you posting about this on tumblr and came to take a look, it's very cute :) You're right that it stands well on its own, and has plenty of room for additions. I'm particularly intrigued by the museum and the two scenic overlooks. Really solidly done, thank you for sharing!
