Thanks for playing! I appreciate the feedback. I definitely should've put it somewhere but you can also use K and J to attack. Didn't think about touchpad users, will keep this in mind for future jams!

It seems that some people are struggling with the combat. The game is tough! I assumed this would happen since I have a lot more hours on the game than someone just trying it out for the first time. If you're having trouble I'd recommend watching the gameplay video, it should help to give some pointers on how to approach enemies and keep them from damaging you. Spacing is key! With the right build, you can get pretty far.
Thanks in advance for playing my game and good luck if yours is also part of the jam! Let me know if you are able to get past round 6, I'll be impressed!

True, the combat is hard. Watching the gameplay video might help a bit. There's a certain style you have to adopt in order to keep the enemies stunned to avoid damage. It's a lot about keeping the right distance between you and the enemy. Agree about the free aim for the ranged attack though. I plan to change it so that you aim with your mouse instead. For now I'd just primarily use the melee :)
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked the art style!
Yes, the combat is definitely challenging. You have to make sure to keep your distance or you'll get swarmed quickly. Using the slide mechanic can be useful for that. In the future I plan to add some combos (as well as modifying the ranged attack) which should help with the fluidity.
Thanks for playing!
Thanks for the update on this. I played the game and it was great! I like that the objective wasn't always just to deal the most damage. I already mentioned it, but the art is defintely my favorite part of it (the camera movement is excellent too). I also liked managing the exhaust time & energy use. Can see how the two resources leads to new card ideas as well. Given the jam time it's pretty polished--once you are able to add some more sound effects and visual cues it will be even better.
I didn't manage to beat it yet but when I get some time later today I'll come back to it and give more feedback if it comes up.
